90% of builds are perfectly ok with eagle rods, not knocking on other brands, but eagle rods have been pushed well over 1000whp; in fact i think IP had them breking at over 1200whp... so i think almost everybody is ok. Not knocking on anybody that has a more expensive rod, i do...BUT its BS how some look to make more profit by saying "the egle rods are dangerous for you" or "anything less than this expensive rods is ZOMFG playing with fire, and you woudl be stupid"....and their build is in the 500-800whp range...actually most dont even hit 800

Thanks for pointing that out. It's been updated. All of the S1 shortblocks we sell are done over the phone, but I appreciate you pointing it out so we've updated it.

My choice is down between Eagle Rods or Brian Crower Sportsman Rods (w/ARP2000 fasteners); just waiting for the machine shop to let me know what work is needed on the engine before I order all my parts and that should be either today or tomorrow!

Also, I’m shooting for 550 – 600 whp max with this build.

Nope, I'm keeping the PL 35r kit and the stock headers too.

A friend made over 550whp on a PL 35r kit (on E85) last month, so I'm keeping this kit for sure.
