2nd Oil Change With ATI Procharger (10 minutes)
What a difference. It took all of 10 minutes, including opening and closing the hood..
I called ATI and asked if there were any other ways of changing the oil? I know last time some people took off belts, strut bar, ect. Well for those that have already done the first oil change, ATI has a new/easier way for Z's. ATI now sells a syringe type of devise that actually sucks the oil out. It was almost too easy.
I'm sure I'm not the first to use this but for those that didn't know about it, I would call and order it. It's around $10 plus shipping and worth every penny.
By the way I did my second oil change at 3000 miles, the first at 500 miles and it still looked pretty dirty. There were no metal particles but the oil was silver gray in color.
The blower actually seems a little quieter but it could just be in my head.

I did mine a little bit ago as well. I don't use the oil sucker though. I had it done in about 25 minutes this time. I think once you do it once it is easier the subsequent times. Mine didn't have any metal the second time but still had that metallic silver color. ATI says this is normal. I got the extra oil with my three year extended warranty as well. I plan on doing mine with my regular engine oil every 3500 miles or so.

oil sucker
you can get "oil suckers" from most Auto stores. most typically used to suck grease out of differentials.
You may also be able to retrofit a FumotoValve oil drain nipple to the SC gearcase, so one hand and a drain hose could provide really easy maintenance. But since I don't know how much clearance or what the drain diameter is? (I don't have the kit_. Just a possible idea....

Dr. Bonz, maybe you remember me posting about extracting the oil a few months ago? I purchased a syringe and tube from Walgreens/Home Depot and retro fitted it together. Needles to say, it didn't work.
The syringe needs to be large enough to make the process worthwhile. If you are forced to suck, then extract per CC, the tool becomes more of a hassel. Also the tubing needs to fit perfectly so it is strong enough to suck the oil out.
Anyway, I highly reccomend the kit. It is worth every penny.
