Default Vortech cog belt disconnected - Is it safe?

Hi Guys,

My Vortech oil feed nozzle has cracked and I'm waiting for my replacement to arrive from the US. (10 days)

I have blanked off the oil feed pipe and removed the cog belt so essentially an N/A now.

The car seems to run ok and I made a short/gentle journey keeping an eye on the AFR's and all seemed fine.

So is it safe/ok to keep running like this in the meantime?

I have the SS box, FMU and in-line pump fitted. I didn't know if the SS box would still try and alter fuelling / timing even though there is no boost?

Any help would be appreciated.

You can drive it N/A like that I had to do the same while waiting for a new blower from vortech last summer.

So it will just drive like a stock na? The SS box won't try and alter anything?

Ah, thanks. That's what I wanted to hear. I can relax when I'm driving it now.

you just have to remember that the air is coming in from the bypass valve now, so there is no filter on it.

Thanks,

I did wonder about that, I did put a very crude filter on it just incase (made of layers of cut up t-shirt).

I couldn't feel any air getting sucked in there though.
