hp is just trq multiplied over time, so hp is completely fictitious, thats why you see parts rated in trq
AHA!!! This is exactly what I was looking for.

Yes i bumped this 5 month old thread lol.

But my question after reading all this is as follows... My 03 base has 150k miles (mainly hwy..) and am really wanting to go with the stillen stage 2 s/c producing about +75whp puting the de motor at aprox 300whp 290tq? and after reading this thread i saw that the maintance and mileage was brought up but not talked about. and since the stillen is such a subtle s/c i would have to worry more about the gaskets and seals blowing before throwing rrods correct? unless the obvious... a shity tune. I saw you guys talking the upwards of 400ish tq and i will be no where near this. all my maintance was done myself at the designated time and nevr had issues. but your thoughts are appreciated. thanks And by the way... i do want a stillen and dont wanna here all the stillen vs vortec talk lol

Ya i would do the typical rebuild but wouldnt wanna do nothing more as im not aiming to go more than 350whp and 330tq. If you guys would think a full rebuild would be needed to safely DD 300whp 290tq then id just buy another lower mileage de and start over.

I wouldn't boost a 150k mile engine...in fact I consider you lucky to have even made it that far N/A. the bearings are already very worn. Rebuild it now before you eject a rod and end up with an unusable crank and block which will significantly increase the rebuild cost.
