Default Osiris and base Z

got a base z thats pretty much had everything swapped out, its a HR TT tuned with osiris. problem being i can only run one map being as i do not have cruise control. my question is for anyone who might have some knowledge on the subject. Is the ecu capable of getting the cruise control wires and hooking them up or just sticking a wheel on that had cruise control and is all wired up for it. Not sure if the base is compatable with that or not

i remember reading a thread on this. I think the person did it but wasnt able to get cruise control working because of the sensors needed for it or something. I wanna say your idea should be sound but i cant give you a 100% answer. I would wait for more of the experience members to response to give you a better answer.

Hey Mo

Couldn't you just wire in a momentary switch to a diff system and achieve the same effect? Just sayin

I think there's a mux in the steering wheel then a serial feed into the BCM which then sends the signals over the CAN bus... so I don't think it's that simple! But I do think it's possible to retrofit the system...just not as simple as it might seem. I think you need the upper clutch switch as well...

would you need this to simply use the map selection and not the cruise function?

Guess not... I just tried switching maps with clutch in and out and it didn't matter. In fact, I'm considering hooking my clutch switch up to the 'cancel' button somehow so I can have true launch control

Actually having enough traction to be useful, that's another story altogether haha

hmm, so the ecu's are the same and will be able to set up somethingto connect the line in. just making sure there is actually some where to hook it up or that the ecu will read it. been told the ecu varies between base and other models since there is some other features it doesnt have

I don't know if you noticed, but Uprev talks about this on their site. They say they can help with the wiring to get map switching.

in for info! Also on a base model soon to be uprev'd.

I'd love to see this done via a momentary switch, i'd be a pioneer but half of anything electronic is my weak spot.

I am having this problem as well. I have hit a brick wall as far as figuring out a way to make it work.

In theory though if the proper ohm's could be had for the cruise control buttons, you could wire in a generic switch with the selector set to fire off specific ohm signals and be able to make a small module that would work as a map selector.

well i figured it all out and i got it working on my car, it allows you to switch maps through steering wheel. i am working one developing a kit to make this all work which hopefully would go on sale soon. but unfortunatly i didnt have enough time to put together a diy but hopefully i can get it done soon.

Wheels don't have anything to do with cruise control and the way I did it was through the factory switches which go on the factory steering wheel.

im not talking about aftermarket. im refering to the base model not having cruise control of any sort. was wondering if a wheel with all it already was a possible plug and play, or if it was even possible to wire it into the ecu on a base vs the ecu on a different model. been told they were different being as the base has no abs traction control or cruise control
