Another HKs Supercharger build
We're at a standstill right now because of the bypass valve. It seems like it was taken apart at some time because the seal was gone and a liquid sealant was used. HKS discontinued the whole unit and the seal so I'm waiting for word on what's the new unit the new kit's are using. The kit I have doesn't have a "race" bypass unit so the spring set up is 8-10lbs so hopefully we'll have answers to what we can do here shortly. I'll have updates here soon
Thanks to Sam@GTM, I was able to get straight answers on my BOV/Bypass dilemma. I picked up a HKS SSQV BOV(Special Edition black
), weldable flange, GTM Cold air, and a belt for a 90mm pulley set up. I ditched the Haltech to go with Uprev due to the overkill nature of having the Haltech unit. GreenGoblin should be receiving the car within the next couple of week for the install and we'll be taking a million pics during the install.

Well... The Supercharger is damaged! No impact marks and no evidence of "covering up" any damage either. Apparently the input shaft/jack shaft where the pulley is attached is bent. If you turn the pulley the rollers are tighter on one side of the revolution than the other side. Stay tuned for more to follow!
Well guys... the initial run has just horrid and the blower is leaking. I can't get the HKS fluid anywhere and here's the numbers for the build....
Wait for it.....
290whp/256ft tq... on a Mustang AWD dyno. Needless to say I'm heartbroken. I can deal with the low HP numbers as the car is retarded fun to drive but the leaking of the second supercharger I've bought is what's really getting to me. The first Rotrex was damaged and this HKS7404 is leaking for some reason, I'm not sure I can afford another unit so this is a kick in the *****. I've dumped way too much money into this car in the last couple of years and I'm waiting for some good news(or bad) from Gear-Heinz as he still is in touch with some of the former HKS Techs in Cali. This car's future isn't looking good... probably not going to get any better so if there isn't any good news, then possibly an Epic part out will happen.
