Finally got my vortech installed
That was the point of my original post responding to his question about reading the gauge. 6th on the highway, step on it, and it will stick at zero, no boost, which is normal. You'd have to be going pretty fast to make boost in 6th.
Thats what i was thinkin but then i was confused when others said ull blow a motor steppin on it in 6th
He might be getting turbos and s/c's mixed up. Bad things could happen if you ran a turbo, possibility of overboost which could lead to a bad lean condition and get some serious knock since the tune wasn't done in 6th gear. If you're unlucky, you may be able to see a nice size hole in your block.
I don't know why you would need to boost in an overdrive gear anyway.

Flooring the accerator in 6th gear at 2500rpm, for instance, puts a tremendous amount of load on the engine, and you will generate a lot of cylinder pressure at very low RPM. This is not good for the health of an engine.

so i finally returned home from iraq for my mini vactation. got to drive my car for the first time after the install. this car is so much more beastly. i love it. the bpv is so loud. ive had a lot of people pull up to me at stop lights to compliment the sound of my car. i also got to measure the wheel that was to be a 2.87. turns out its the 3.33 that i have. ive put on true duals and added test pipes with non foulers. car sounds great in person. since the exhaust change up, it seems to be running rich under wot and 1rpms and below sputters like its being flooded and sometimes stalls. ive stopped driving it till i can go back to uprev in sept. just wanted to say that i love my Vortech setup!

it drives normal under regular load. even if i go wot it doesnt hiccup or anything. problems im having is around 1rpm and below. my afr gauge hits 10 under wot and normal driving stays around 14.6 i think.
I cruise in 5th and 6th...
I tear up STI's and EVO's in 3-4th...
LOL..
I just read you have the 3.33 pulley.
I would go to the 3.12, and re-tune. Expect another 30 HP.
I personally will stay away from the 2.87, It may push my tourque over 400 and rods start to find holes in blocks...
Now when the new motor is in, in goes the 2.87 and new impeller...

Not wanting to get into a tuning contest but 380tq with the 3.12 seems very high...on the Split Second box and FMU/Aux fuel system?
