Be real carefull when gapping them as they are easy to damage the electrode.

.044 for FI?
i would gap them down to .035 or even .030 depending how much boost you are running.

like mentioned, general rule is to not touch the gap on iridium plugs. i run the stock gap on my 2 step colder iridiums

did you upgrade your ignition system? i would almost expect blow out at your level of boost pressure with that huge gap

general consensus is to not use platinums on FI cuz you have higher chance of blowout due to the fact that the tip surfaces of a platinum spark plug is not large enough to make a good conductor in a rich, super high compression environment.

I use cheap coppers and gap them down to .030
I had misfires that wouldn't go away until the gap was down that far. Could just b my car though.

not the CEL for random misfires. It was spark blowout but it didn't trip a code.
check out your plugs to see if they are worn or the gap is really large. it doesn't sound like the same issue though.
