Default spark plug qustion

So I wanted to change my spark plugs and I found plfr5a spark plugs in ! Isn't that the stock spark plug code ?

Now I bought iridium lfr6aix11 would it be same gap ? And what is the gap 40 ?

Be real carefull when gapping them as they are easy to damage the electrode.

.044 for FI?

i would gap them down to .035 or even .030 depending how much boost you are running.

like mentioned, general rule is to not touch the gap on iridium plugs. i run the stock gap on my 2 step colder iridiums

did you upgrade your ignition system? i would almost expect blow out at your level of boost pressure with that huge gap

well i just get the one step colder iridiums for my z. i dont gap, just throw um in. i should double check though.

general consensus is to not use platinums on FI cuz you have higher chance of blowout due to the fact that the tip surfaces of a platinum spark plug is not large enough to make a good conductor in a rich, super high compression environment.

I use cheap coppers and gap them down to .030

I had misfires that wouldn't go away until the gap was down that far. Could just b my car though.

Binder --> random misfires? thats what im getting and im due for smog check soon. was wondering if a change in sparkplugs would help the cel go away.

not the CEL for random misfires. It was spark blowout but it didn't trip a code.

check out your plugs to see if they are worn or the gap is really large. it doesn't sound like the same issue though.

.044 is oem gap spec and the copper ain't the oem starndard for nissan!! Iridium or platinum is oem don't remeber which is??? I used the copper and in two year they open up to .050 and got fouled up mostly all of the sparks plugs! It's your car gap them where ever u want?? I'm just letting u know!!
