you still come out 3000$ cheaper than any other kit.
What about a crappy turbo that I've heard some of these ebay kits have?

like the GTM kits or PL kits fit perfect everytime as well

with the horrible resale on 350z's, i fully expect this will be the new price point for stock motor turbo kits.

haha i knew i would get responses like this for even starting this thread but i just had to out of curiousity, but i am not considering this kit. but to be honest it looks like it couldnt be too bad if someone wanted to save a lot of money and just run low boost. definitely better than the other kits i used to find on ebay which were "universal"

I was browsing around bored on eBay and remembered reading this thread, and found that same turbo kit now actually comes with Turbonetics Turbo and Wastegate from Godspeed.

Pretty funny, also $2,799, saw the same one with all Godspeed for $1,799 still.

Found it interesting, thought I'd share.

IF you were looking to save a decent amount, and go for an eBay turbo kit at low boost, I'd say that is your winner.

so is bigcloud going to buy this so we can see it tested?

i'm curious about the quality and i'm sick of seeing all this ebay crap so it would be interesting to see an 1800$ turbo kit that actually works.

I would love to buy the kit now, but I don't have everything for the LS swap yet!! If I had everything I would buy it and be the science experiment.

The demise of the once almighty 350Z is now complete.

There's a guy in my home town that is on his 3rd LS block. One was a stock block from a donor car and the other was a crate engine that was ordered.

I think ppl are jumping on a bandwagon thinking they won't have any issues with their cars once they use a different engine and that's not true. Anytime you screw with an engine something can go wrong.

I grew up in the Mid-West so I know what you're talking about. However, a "stock" LS block is much better than a "stock" VQ with respect to part prices, and power.

Jump into the FI world and you have the same story. There is a reason that LSX blocks are used in big budget drag racing builds. You don't see a professional drag racing team go and buy an VQ35 and drag race it.

No disrespect, but I think that you may be a bit biased because you have a built motor with a semi-big single. You've had some problems with your setup as well, and that may lend your bias. I think that "logically" a "stock" LS1/2/3/6/7/9 motor will be more fun and less "trouble prone" than any stock block FI VQ application.

Just look at these scenarios "logically".

An N/A Z is loads of fun to drive just imagine it with 8 cylinders more torque and hp.

Less "probability" and "possibility" of throwing a "rod" through the block.

Less "probability" and "possibility" of detonation.

Less "probability" and "possibility" of blown head gaskets.

An N/A LS1/2/3/6/7 motor is a blast to drive as opposed to a VQ35DE/HR or VQ37VHR. Just regular maintenance like on our N/A VQ motors.

With an FI Z the "probability" and "possibility" of the aforementioned scenarios through the roof. I'm sure I could calculate the probability of the failures of a stock block FI VQ motor with respect to those on the forum pretty easily. And easily compare/contrast those with N/A failure probabilities on the forum.

Bottom line is the LS motor from a "dollar/horsepower" figure is a much better option than FI on a VQ.

I think until FI prices on the VQ come down (ALOT) the LS will continue to claw it's way to the top as a "better" way to add power to the Z with much less headaches than an FI setup.

Oh BTW I'm not biased towards FI at all. At first I wanted to do built twins, but seeing the many failure's and problems people go through with FI. Plus the REQUIREMENT of having a 3rd vehicle is just to cost prohibitive.

I would rather drive my N/A V8 Z daily and not have to worry about anything other than general maintenance.
