Have you seen the crazy prices for the 2J swap parts? The RB26 is way cheaper to swap.
Beside, I'm too broke now and thinking about selling the TT kit, but it would take for ever to sell it locally and shipping it to the U.S would cost around $1000-$1200
The only thing that I really love about this build and don't want to sell is the Haltech. That thing is way too easy to tune.

2jz's really aren't that much, especially if you go with a ge motor and rebuild it. Getting manifolds fabricated for it wouldn't be any more of a hastle as you'd probably want custom manifolds (intake and exhaust) for the swap anyway.

I think the cost of 2jz's must be 'high' over there, especially if you can get an rb26 for cheaper.
2jz's really aren't that much, especially if you go with a ge motor and rebuild it. Getting manifolds fabricated for it wouldn't be any more of a hastle as you'd probably want custom manifolds (intake and exhaust) for the swap anyway.

The problem is the price of the tranny, and the swap kit that I found is around $2k and another $2k for the harness. And for now I just want a car to drive. $580 a month to rent a fwcking Kia is stupid.
I'm 85% selling the TT kit and going back to stock, but keeping the Haltech. Just have to find the buyer soon enough before I change my mind for the 1000th time. LoL
Sometimes I think that I already have the best/all of the parts to make 550whp+ all day long, so why to sell!! And my friend "smalltuner " offered me a complete built engine (use my old rods and pistons) for only $1900 which I thank him for.
I'm really tiered of thinking about this, and I'm thinking about starting a poll to help me decide. Haha

It's been a while since I've even entered this forum but I read your topic and felt the urge to read. While I haven't read the whole thing, I wish to share that the biggest reason I chose to move away from my G35 was how ridiculously uncomfortable it was to work on it due to lack of space and how expensive it was to get good power out of it. I spent TWICE as much on my G35 to make 400whp as I did on my E55 to make 500whp. Not only that, but working on the E55 is a joy. There is room EVERYWHERE. I took just as long to install headers on my G35 than I took to install headers, midpipes, intercooler, larger crank pulley and ECU tune on my E55 ( I did all this in one single day ).
FWIW, My car also ran 11.8@119mph on street tires ( not drag radials ) in a 4000lbs sedan. That's quicker than some 350Z's I've raced with just as much power, 800lbs less, and 2-3 times the money spent ( I have about $4000 in mods ).
I know some people are going to hate on me for posting, but I will never go back to the VQ unless I plan to keep it stock. They are sweet as hell cars ( I LOVED my G35 ) but the engines really do suck.

every car is different, yes its a pain but in the end the results are worth if it is done correctly. if all we cared about is how much whp, we would all be driving turbo integras and fox body mustangs which can be made to go fast for a lot less then it costs on the Z/G.

Are the results of spending HUGE amounts of money just to do times similar to other cars with 1/2 to 1/4 the amount really worth it? I mean, I've seen 700+whp G35's barely crack 10's. As a matter of fact, I don't think a G35 has even touched 9's regardless of whp ( I could be wrong, I've been out of the scene for a while ). Even Injected Performance's 1000+whp, 8 second 350Z is slower than ZZP's FRONT WHEEL DRIVE, Pontiac GRAND PRIX with a 100 year old tech turbo V6 with 200whp less.
I know it sounds like I'm trolling, but I was one who thought the VQ was an awesome engine...until I found out that it's really not ( the VQ35DE anyways ). Their stock bottom ends are pretty weak ( 400whp is pretty much in the lower end of what stock engines from other brands tend to handle ). Then your suspension hates you when you get so much negative camber when the car squats that even your 295 wide tires have the grip of 215 wide tires on any other car. And then you have the engine bay...oh well....I already wrote about that....lol.
And yes, I have my flame suit on...just getting ready to be hammered by the nay sayers.
