more people up here in WA run rbs then 2js actually XD they all keep them low boost tho for the most part 
1 dude witha built rb in his r33 pushen 7xx whp but hes on his 3rd build on it now aswell : /. ive only seen one locally built 2j and its a show car he never gets on it

Fair enough lol. I still believe that the sheer numbers of 2jzs out there makes them seem like far better motors. Aside from their stock block abilities and their displacement increase I think the rb26 is just as good, when built. But that's only through internet hype, so not really a valid opinion.

mid just buy a nissan patrol, and either build/boost it or swap that motor in your z.
But seriously:
You need to realize that you need a motor that your builders know and can build reliably LOCALLY. IPP (or whoever you bought that block from) etc are halfway across the globe, your local builder can't do a vq35 obviously. I know that's coming across really brash, but that's what I think. I'd rather be a jerk in a few posts than see you continue to be miserable and essentially burn time and money. I'd say either go stock block and just deal with the lower power, or pick a different motor. Correct me if i'm wrong but with the money you've spent you probably could nearly afford a gtr at this point.

The TB48DE is kinda expensive, $6000+ for just a used stock engine. Maybe in the future
. Also, the TB48DE is a very close engine in design to the RB series, but way bigger.
I'm not thinking about building the motor at the moment. I lost my faith in the VQ.
I'm going to run a stock block at 8psi or part out if I find a buyer for everything.

though; Ive heared some nice stories with our friends in UAE ... it seems to me that their japanese cars experience is quiet good.OP; you may want to check them up; if your still interested in the game (;

I looked for sooo much info on that tb48, and it's really hard to come across anything on it over here in the states.
6 grand for a giant rb actually doesn't sound so bad... (when you look at the end power possibilities) you could just have a bored/stroked vq35 for that though.
That g35 is soo boss.

I updated my FS thread in a local forum.
GTM HR 350Z TT STG2 kit (the kit needs new exhaust manifolds, the ones I have are broken) They are for ~$900 from GTM.
GTM SPEC 3" downpipes
GTM full return fuel system for HR
HKS Denso 1000cc Peak and Hold Injectors
IntensePower A-Pillar Triple Gauge Pod
Haltech platinum 350z PNP EMS + IP Wiring Harness Modification for HR (HR plug and play) IP Boost Control Kit.
All the above for $8600. it's a damn steal! IMO.
If it doesn't sell in a month then I'm keeping it all.

I'd go back to a stock block and run mid 400s. Car is still fun at that power level, wont make you poop or pee yourself fun, but its still fun.
If my car were to blow up, I'd do minor motor upgrades, guessing rods/pistons and thats it and still run low 400s with my setup.

Really sucks. I've been through my fair share of growing pains with alot of my other cars. Had some hick-ups on the Z during the build, but worked them all out. She's been running strong ever since.
But having all the problems you've been going through will definitely leave you hating the VQ and the Z. That goes without saying. Ditched a perfectly good LS400 with a built oem V8 for the same reasons. Don't blame you one bit.
