f150, i'm aware it's 2 cores but it still could be easily routed to send the outputs up through the core support allowing a straighter and shorter piping setup.

 

Just a quick update.... me and my mechanic Will decided to do the A/F and boost gauges in the stock pod but I wanted a covert look and didn't want it to look like we just stuffed the gauges in there. So this AWESOME shop managed to machine the pod and retain the factory gauge rims after removing the rims on the Defi and Innovate Gauges. Oil Pressure and Water Temp gauges mounted in the glove box.

The top photo is before we made our decision. I don't have one lighted with everything after fact yet. He will send it to me on Monday.

Correct. After getting hammered on the other thread about the accuracy of the stock oil pressure gauge I thought I would get something better. I don't race the car on road courses or lengthy track events and with the 34 row Z1 oil cooler I didn't think oil temp would be critical. However, the summers are quite hot in the panhandle and with completely stock engine cooling I felt more comfortable with a more accurate way to monitor coolant temperatures.

at 523 hp on stock cooling system even in 100* temps here in stl i've never had an issue with high cooling temps but my oil temps have skyrocketed before even with my oil cooler.

i didn't know the stock oil pressure was inaccurate but if people find it inaccurate i would have replaced it as well. I use a defi oil pressure sensor in my G because we don't have a stock pressure sensor.

 

Had the pleasure of visiting the shop again to check on the progress. Things are getting real close! Here are a few pictures.

I will run bigger tires at the track but am keeping stock wheels for the street for now. I'm going tto run stock sized Yoko advan neova ad08s on the stock wheels.

how much HP are you going to run?

Those 245's won't hold anything for power. I had 275 falken 452's and those were easy to let loose with my vortech. With turbo power you will have no traction.

 

Build is looking awesome bro, and you will enjoy it for sure. Going through the last few pages is like every other F.I thread on here, people get super opinionated but love to build there post counts an sh*t, just can't keep to themselves. There are tons of shops i would love to flame but doesn't make me any better of a person. I love the quality of GTM's kit and build. Sam's rep may not be the best out there, hell my car was there a little longer that quoted but his work speaks for itself. 3 years and my Z is running just as strong as the day i drove off from GTM. I am far more conservative on how 'often' not how hard i push it. Some douche bags on here expected to have 500+ whp on stock blocks and 'drive hard' all day every day and expected it to last. If Sam told them it was ok, they obviously didn't do the research others are telling you to do.

LOL .. i had to say though I'm dying at 275's on the tires. Highly suggest an upgrade VERY soon haha.

 

when i was stock block and ttd i was running 295 hankook evo 12s (not the best grippy tire mind you) but it burned through third i dont think those 245 yoko's will hold u down to well

 

Z1 is recommending Yoko Advan Neova AD08. I'm kind of torn on tire size. What is the biggest tire that fits on the stock wheel? In case you guys haven't noticed my build could be titled Covert350.

I have a second set of wheels for strip that I will run MTs on. As soon as the car gets home we are doing Akebono 370z brakes and quaiffe differential.

275's on the 8" rim? I don't think that will work. I ran 275's on a 10" wide rim.

I would say 255 will fit and maybe a 265 at most.

I had stock size on my car for breaking in my engine a few months ago. After the engine was good and broke in my tune for 10psi would light the tires up through 4th gear. It was dangerously violent too. That small of a tire doesn't slip like a drag radial so you can't really control it.

My car is a sleeper. Cant see the intercooler, completely stock outside except black rims and 305 mickey thompsons tucked away. Don't take the "sleeper" thing too far. There is a difference between stock looking and sleeper. Stock looking won't do anything if someone rolls on you on the highway. A sleeper on the other hand will hook traction and walk away. Can't be a sleeper if you're not actually putting power down.

 

The minimum recommended width is 9" for a 275. My wheels are 8.5". I bet it will fit. Anyone done it?

 

sounds like a bad idea....why invest all the money into a turbo kit and neglect the only portion of the vehicle that touches the ground.
