Default SC and stock clutch?

If I'm looking at SC (GTM) 380WHP/350Lbs ft..will the stock clutch be *OK*? I would think so, as long as I don't drag race. Any thoughts appreciated.

Maybe, get a JWT clutch for only $300-$400 and call it a day.

Also, if you have 07+ then search this (CSC).

Jwt is a Good Choice. I have one, works great. And I beat on the Clutch every now and then.

with no drag racing you should be ok depending how much wear your current clutch has. Hard launches and slipping the clutch is what wears them out. If you aren't doing that then it should last ok.

Mine was good at 400hp for quite a while. It died the first night i had it at the drag strip though.

All new members are “looking at” 380 horsepower. Better go 480 horsepower.

I took advice from someone here and wasted my money on a clutch, it's been sitting in my garage for the past 3 years. I beat on my car every day. the vortech kit doesn't generate enough torque that an upgrade is needed.

Sure, if by beat on it you mean drive hard from a roll. The superchargers dont ramp trq quick enough to cause accelerated wear like a turbo.

Start cutting some 1.8x 60's a few times and you'll need a new clutch in short order. Mine was shot after 1 day at the strip.

That's what I was thinking....I had a Cobalt turbo (stock with tune) churning out around 330 WTQ with the stock clutch and it was fine. I know the stocker for our car is pretty beefy and should easily handle 350 WTQ.

It'll last a long time, until you take it to the track. One track day and my stock clutch was gone.
