The boost controller has nothing to do with the BOV. Depending on how the nut is set on top of the valve, you may not be able to hear it while in the car.

Also, if you are running a stock block, I would be cautious with that boost controller.

I have a Greddy RS on my other car. Yes, it is adjustable. If you have the setting to tight, above the possible pressure the BOV will see, it will not open, thus no BOV sound. If it is set to soft, it will stick open and you know if it sticks open. You'll start having major intake leaks, boost issues, idle problems, etc etc.

Sounds like it is too tight, or you may want to double check your vacumn line to make sure there are no kinks or leaks.

Agreed, what is it using for vacuum reference?

i would be worried if a tuner thinks putting a boost controller on will stop spikes. Why is it having "spikes". I would wonder what is making the spring spike boost.....maybe a boost leak that is intermittent?

Wastegates hooked up wrong, or vacuum leaks.
