Default water/meth kits, what kit did you use?

looking to pick up a water/meth kit was just curious what everyone else has been going with and they're thoughts on it. Looking at the Aem kit and ordering a second injector (i has HR) as of now just looking for some feed back on what you ran

depends on what you want the kit to do. simple on/off, then it doesnt really matter.

They are all the same pump and nozzles. Mine was just on/off so i just sourced the pump, nozzles, hoses, etc and saved a ton of money.

ive had so many iterations, i have no idea. Pumps are 80-150$, nozzles are about 5$ each. tank is like 20$, fittings and hose maybe 30$, hobbs switch like 20$

lots of DIY meth kits instructions online with all the part #s etc. Now a good meth controller is worth its weight. flow readings, 3d mapping, failsafes are awesome.

Just gotta ask yourself, Am I tuning to a point if my meth fails will my motor pop? On/off kits are not sufficient for that.

we wont be tuning it that aggressively with the meth, just enough to get a little more efficiency out of the gt 28s since they'll be maxed out fairly easily with the stroker in the car.

I have a Snow Performance kit. I liked it for the most part but discovered that after about two years the pump has stopped working at the begining of this summer (tried to fill up my washer fluid tank recently and it was still full). I have driven about 1500 miles on my meth map and I am hoping it hasn't damaged my engine. Being a supercharger my tuner just dialed in a little more timing for a total gain of about 20whp. I think the pumps have a lifetime warranty so I will hopefully get a new pump.

yikes hopeully it didnt!

got a good deal on an aem kit today did some reading and it seemed like it would do the job i needed. picked one up for a real good deal from vivid racing. Just need a second injector now theyre gonna call aem and get one dropped shipped, very good customer service from these guys i was impressed.

on a sie note:
would Ying off the pump and putting a line each charge piping right off the intercooler be enough flow time to get an even amount into the plenum?

What if I tuned my car to run on 91 octane pump gas and I decided I wanted to run Meth. If I added an on/off meth kit (50/50, water/meth) would I have to retune? Or would the existing 91 oct. tune be okay with the meth?

The aquammist HFS6 kit is very good as it incorporates a flow sensor for detecting too little (blocked hose) and too much (disconnected hose) fluid flow. It detects injector pulse width and sprays proportional to that (you can alter threshold, slope, gain, etc), which makes "tuning" easy. You may need to get the controller recalibrated for low impedence injectors (e.g. was required for my HKS 1000cc low impedence injectors).

Keep in mind that you are only injecting at approximately 15-20% of fuel flow so your octane ratings only change modestly. I find my AFR drops a solid 1/2 point with 50/50 boost juice spraying at ~20% fuel flow injection.

Just to add, the hfs3 does all of that as well, iirc the only difference is the small pressure chamber on the side of the pump that holds pressure ready for the next injection event so there is no lag waiting for the pump to pressurize.

^ yes, 2 nozzles located between the MAF and the TB spraying about 1000 cc/min in total as I recall

I also have Aquamist, I think I have the HSF 5 the new one the HSF 6 the biggest difference is the wiring is much simpler for a much easier install.
