do it! even on a stock block it's wicked and you can push it hard if you choose to later upgrade the block. It was an easier install than when i did my vortech.

 

Trust me I am. I just came from a turbo RSX and I got the z with plans to boost. This stuff is so expensive and addicting but I cant help it. Ill go boost this summer after I get used to the car.


PS. You are my hero haha. I have been wanting to see a BP kit pass the 550whp mark.

 

it'll pass the 700hp easily in the config it's in with clutch and then once i push the boost and timing i'm sure high 700's and maybe i'll stretch it crazy 800 if i feel frisky. As seen by the supra community these turbos easily scream at 35psi and higher. I'm barely scratching the surface at 22psi.

so snag a BP kit now and install it over the winter. You do'nt need to learn to drive the car because vacuum drives the same. Just don't push the skinny pedal until you're used to it.

 

contacted OS giken. The twin disk clutch i have is rated at 500-550 hp. The guy said my clutch is more than likely fine but just won't hold the power level i'm at. In order to hold more i need the triple disk which holds 1000hp but costs 2499$.

So that's why my clutch had no problems at lower hp and drives fine on the street.

 

That would explain the spike of power at about 7000rpm, as the clutch regains some friction and the looses it again at 480whp and 7400rpm.

That's because it is!! So jon at ET Tuning sent me the drp files and i was looking through them. Since i didn't trust the tach signal (it was having issues) i decided to log them based on wheel speed since that can't be messed with and alter my graphs. When i was doing that i found 2 more runs that apparently he never saw with more power. I put it in STD correction with 0 smoothing (because that's what i see on here the most of to compare).

So the new power is 652. I'm having him email me the tq runs so i can put those together as well.

Also, the blue line i have highlighted is my second pull. My first pull never has the cams working so i did a back to back pull. This is at 18psi with my timing set the same as I had it with my pumpgas map. I had not yet messed with 18psi timing levels.

So that's 607hp on 18psi and it appears my clutch wasn't slipping bad but it could have still been slipping slightly.

edit: for anyone wanting to know rpm or whatever this is a 6mt, 4th gear pull with 26.5" rear tires on the 3.5 final drive.

 

Can't wait to see this thing with a clutch that holds all the way to red line.

the os giken triple? lucky dog. At this stage in the game i really don't feel like spending another 2500$ on a clutch. I think i'll be ok with half that cost. I still need to buget in some dss pro axles by next summer so i don't snap anything at the track. Rumor has it that Gateway International is re-opening.

maybe got 1 pull out of it or the numbers were inflated. I've seen those clutches and there is no way that organic compound holds up to a true 700whp and if it did it was for a single pull.

People say it has a 1200kg clamping force but that's what my os giken has and the pressure plate on mine feels double the strength as the jwt. Either way, you could put a 4000lb pressure plate on a simple organic plate and based on the friction it wont hold what a higher friction coefficient material will.

 

VRT and Relentless Autosports/Scott Bush made multiple unsubstantiated claims of 700+whp with a JWT clutch. But I don't recall anyone else claiming or legitimately holding down that amount of power on a JWT clutch ...especially with any consistency or longevity.

And Yea Jeff, snagged an OS triple the day after we spoke.... Makes sense to rebuild yours tho, seeing how ur already ***** deep ....

In my own thread here cass007 mentions one member with 700+WHP on a JWT and another member (thom00001) chimes in running a stock flywheel with southbend full face and 768rwhp and 711rwtq. Not saying it's the best and smartest thing to do but no there is no need for Scott Bush reference

 

It was in fact a JWT flywheel and an RPS Stage 6 clutch.
