I an truely sorry to hear your motor went, But in all reality I do not think even an ounce of blame can be placed torward ATI. Mabye the VQ just can't handle it, mabye it was poorly tuned. Who knows. Mabye it was bad gas, mabye your fuel pump wasn't getting enough voltage.
I have been thinking mabye we should over-toruqe our knock sensors to get a little extra timing retard on a FI 350z. Mine is stock, someone should give that a try.
Honestly I do not trust the aeromotive electronic fpr / pump that ati includes with thier kit. Changing temps can vary your alternator & battery output a lot, and that directly effects your fuel pump voltage and flow of the pump.

FYI...........A/F after install - 12:1
Changes after initital install were plugs(the colder ones) and the Crawford Plenum(hours before it happened). Also install was completed in October 90+ degree weather at high humidity. Engine died with severe detonation on the one cold day of the year in Miami.......like 40+ degrees very low humidity.
Due to the nature of the ECM my new motor will have a standalone engine management sys w/ logging and wideband O2's for both banks. I think(IMHO) that the timing map on the stock computer sucks and the sensors are apparently not sufficient.............who knows, not really the ATI unit itself, more of a tuning issue............and the tuning is not too user friendly unless you have access to a dyno and can reprogram the ECM to fit the situation(weather, elevation, fuel quality etc)......which unless you are best buddies with TQ thats prob not going to happen. Like I said this is just the sense I am getting in my research/reading others opinions/personal exp/and effort to build a new motor.

Things will only get better, Robin
