Default Powerlab owners: what exhaust?

Just wanted to know what exhaust people were running with their power lab set ups from down pipe back ... Size , brand , and pics would be nice thanks

I already had nimso exhaust and so once kit was installed I used provided piping getting rid of the y pipe obviously and kept the 3inch axle back and nimso muffler ... Thinking I should change to something more efficient , made 386whp 387tq tuned with haltech platinum

At that hp you will be ok. Getting near upper 400hp range you need a straight through design. My true dual borla was too restrictive after 500hp. Any of the muffler type that are at the rear and not straight through will cause flow issues nearing 500hp. Below that you should be fine.

I was going to run a JIC single with my PowerLab kit...I don't think they make them anymore though. The Momentum singles are nice, not that you need one, but they are nice.

It wasn't just for more power as I could make more by turning up boost (playing it safe) ... It was also a thought to attempt to hear more spool lol

Assuming possible I was thinking of greddy or hks single and bolting to my already existing nismo axle back ... Would probs pay for itself with resale of my nismo muffler

Make sure your exhaust piping diameter is correct. Say no to bottlenecks which I have seen on this forum!

you won't hear the spool anymore through freer flowing exhaust as you will through the air filter. Probably more through the air filter than the exhaust actually.

I did Greddy TiC 70mm with a reverse Y. Not a fan of single exhaust but that's just me

i wouldn't put a foam filter in place of a gauze cone type filter.

I have a boost cutout straight off the turbo and it really didn't make the spool any more loud. The exhaust coming out is just so loud it drowns out the sound of the turbo.

The AAM 3inch single for the money and performance is really hard to beat, I think McCann is referring to the exhaust note from the cut out not the "Turbo sound".

ya, the op wants to hear the turbo spool more so i was making sure he wouldn't get the false impression that a cutout would make it so you can hear the turbo spool more. i actually hear mine more before the cutout opens because the world seems to tear in half with the noise of that cutout

lmao ^

and op, i like my Greddy TiC dual. it comes with a bottleneck where the downpipe meets the exhaust though theres a 2.5" inch section for about an inch and a half thats connected to the flange. i cut that peice out and just welded a new flange and and its 3 inch all the way out now ( i removed the resonators aswell) love the sound of it tho its nice and throaty

I reversed a Greddy Ti-C dual turbo off the downpipe. Love the sound, no drone like the JIC single unresonated

kind of bumping this cause you could jsut keep the same exhaust and use the SP cut out... pretty much you can run almost any exhaust and get the performance with the SP cutout...works well specially for those that had spend a good 700-800$ on a a nice looking n/a exhaust that you are in love with and dont want to just buy another 3" for the sake of less restriction

Really cheap way I did mine was sell my nismo s tune muffler and welded a long 3" tip with a hanger on the axel back. Love the sound and no droan. I did it because I didn't know what exhaust I wanted to run after I put my kit on but I didn't wanna run the muffler. But now I think i will just leave it alone. it will do just as good as any other 3 " exhaust IMO.
