Have you ever experienced or witnessed this at a shop?

I was at a shop and the phone rang and i witnessed the shop employee look at the phones caller ID and discussed who it was calling with another employee/boss and they purposely let the phone goto voice mail. The phone rang again and they did the same and clearly avoided the customer. Thats not the 1st time/day ive witnesses something like that happening at this or other shops, but it really annoyed the S%*T out of me.

If someone has their car at a shop and paid for a service, i think the shop should answer the phone. It makes me wonder if the times ive called and didnt get an answer that they were doing the same to me . And i dont buy the excuse of "they might be busy" because if they were so busy they wouldn't of looked at the phone and tell others who it was.

It just sucks to see that happen.

If I had a girlfriend who skipped the opportunity to leave a message just to call again and let it ring... well- 'nuff said...

The self important need to evaluate themselves through the perception of others and realize that it isn't always the ignorance of "the others" that is to blame for unfavourable results.

My suggestion to you would be to call the shop and complain.

Oh wait...

It's either a bill collector or a customer . Pretty sad they cannot pick up the phone no matter the person .. Says a lot about that business ..

I could be a customer who is being a little to excited/impatient about their car, and the shop is getting tired of talking to them.

or

It could be a bad business

- If you are truly a good customer, you probably have your mechanic/tuner/fabricator's cell and/or home phone.

I understand that too a point... As someone who has spent alot on my cars, i feel a shop could at least pickup the phone. Especially when the shop has a office secretary. At least take a message and get back to the customer when you get a chance....

Not shocked, just annoyed. A loooong time ago i had a 300ZXTT and dropped my car/money off at a shop for some work while i was deployed, and while deployed i called in when i could (rarely - 3 way with family). They answered 1 time and it was a 2 minute conversation. After that they never answered. When i got back i went to the shop and saw them outside smoking and joking so i called. They looked at the phone caller ID and let it rang. I walked in and the look on their faces was "OH ****". Needless to say after a few choice words/actions i took my car elsewhere.

Its really none of your business.
I run my own business, there are times when we do not want to talk to a supplier.
Also, individuals are always calling for employment. How do you know that it was'nt a irate ex-wife/girl friend or a bill collector for one of the employees.
How do you/would you know it was a CUSTOMER?

Bottom line, butt out.Be concerned about your OWN service at that shop.

On incoming phone calls in general,IMO...the phone does not control me.
I control the phone. There are many people that think you should pickup on EVERY call no matter what you are doing.I disagree.

This times 10000000. ^^^

I absolutley hate these threads..

what they did is no worse than you making this thread about it.
DId you expect the same customer service you get at your bank...or froma drive thru where ppl HAVE to smile and serve you?

if you want to complain about that.. just know that people who usually never spend money at their shop will be the ones to complain the loudest over the parts they lowballed the vendors on the most, and will subsequently make the least money from.. and yes, that makes a difference.

Theres a reason Z1 has a "faux" tech support charge.. the amount of info they get pumped for when ppl just buy elsewhere is staggering.. and its the same for every vendor..

ppl want it, they want it the cheapest, and they want it NOW, and if theres a problem, they want a full refund including shipping.. and if not, they write threads, call chargebacks to the credit card companies and trash the shops online.

thats what ppl do these days, and young import car guys are the WORST at this.
were you really curious if we have ever actually seen this?
Try being a real estate agent or in mortgage.. you dont think calls get screened?

terrible thread.. its Christmas... do something better with your day please.

Take this forum for example.Daily there is some guy that is running his mouth
on a laundry list of mods that he does'nt have the dough or really know
what he is talk'in about.Think about the tuner shops in your area that gets calls from the same wanna-do-this-to-my-car-what da-yah-think jerks.
It gets old.
These guys are running a business. Most don't have time for these "tire kickers".

1st - Its not my car, Mines in my garage where it belongs when im not driving it. NOT complaining, just annoyed...
2nd - It was a guy whos car has been there for awhile (Longer than normal for a build which is paid for).
3rd - I know this because i witnessed him talking to the shop previously about his build taking 20 years and he gets put on the back burner because the shop keeps taking new business without finishing the old.
4th - i have my shops cell/contact/email/etc.... Plus i dont just call, i show up..

Not trying to argue, just annoyed as it reminded me of when it was done to me when i was deployed... The shop was taking orders on parts and giving other customers parts that were in the shop to the new customer while taking the money. Kind of a ponzi scheme but with car parts.... A big reason they never answered the phones when you called in and checked on your car.. (my experience with not answering the phone)

maybe you missed my post #11 :
