DIY is far different than fabricating a kit from nothing. There is a huge difference between ground up fabrication to dropping your car off and not touching a thing on it.

ya if you can tig weld aluminum, there is absolutely no reason in the world you cannot make your own turbo kit. You can get get those pcv header kits to mock up your own headers as well. A proper tig setup is not cheap, but once you have that materials to build a turbo kit are very inexpensive, and assuming your time is free.

You mean most people like to bolt on parts onto their cars. Very few people actually can build their own kits.

My time is never free

And yes, DIY bolting on a turbo kit or assembling a built engine is quite a bit different than fabricating a kit from scratch. I can weld and have been doing custom work most of my life but i don't have the resources to make a custom kit near the perfection that some of these are. I don't have a tig welder either
