Default 928 + 2.87???

Would both of these upgrades work with a stock bottom end?
or would it be to much( i.e. snap a rod)?? I cant seem to find any threads on both of
these being used. I even googled

I think that theres a few guys on here that are running that set-up but i'm not 100% sure... I dont see a problem with that as long as the tune is good, and you keep the torque down below 400ish ft/lbs

i wouldnt think a vortech would be able to pull that kind of torque with a stock block. im scared to try it =/ my 04 only has 46k miles dont want to blow it up pre-maturely

I've been running that same setup for over a year on stock block. Just get a good tune and you are good to go.

This!

If you have a little time before you make your decision, you can follow my thread here: https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...-v3-setup.html

I'm running the 928M impeller with the 928M 2.62 pulley. I should be getting some results soon.

I believe they also make a 2.75 pulley. http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/6ribpulley.php

You might want to read through my entire thread. Or at least until the convo starts/ends regarding the issues I had with my blower's trim and the 928M impeller. Really good info in there that I wish I had before ordering.

Before the impeller I made 350 whp on a low reading mustang dyno. One week prior I made 400 whp on a dj dyno with the 2.87 on a 3.12 tune. After the impeller I made 385 whp on the mustang dyno, I never made it back to the dj dyno after that though. I have full bolt-ons including headers but no cams. I'll be installing a 31x12x4 intercooler in the coming weeks and will post a before and after dj dyno results.

Just to make a correction on the before and after dyno numbers, 332whp and 273tq before impeller and 375whp with 319tq after. This was on the mustang dyno. Also the tq curve was a little bit fatter with the impeller.

Really significant increase. About 17 %. Fatter or flatter?

I currently have the 2.87 pulley and looking to order the 928 impeller this week. However, I have the Forged shortblock so I'm looking to be somewhere in the mid 500whp.

Without knowing more about your setup, I think you're going to need a smaller pulley (or a bigger crank pulley) to get you mid 500whp with just the 928 impeller.
