Default piston?

a great opportunity came by to rebuild a spare engine i have.
I got eagle rods on the way with arp head studs and a new set of cams.

I am really wanting to supercharge. No i don't want to twin turbo
because from what i here the maintenance seems much more of a pita.

from research i know 9.5 - 10.1 is the desired compression for a vortech
to push 500+ anyone know of any company or site i can purchase these from?

i have high compression 11:1's sitting at a friends house that i am probably
going to sell

If you are set on a s/c then yes, there are benefits to going with a higher CR. I think R/T tuning had some custom 9.8:1 pistons for s/c applications.

Have you considered going single turbo? The BP Stage I kit will get you well past the 500whp mark on pump gas. The kit is out of the engine bay, and the easiest of all kits to install.

Good choice. Read the forums for about 20 minutes and I'm pretty sure you'll see that the BP kit is probably the easiest to install, upgrade and the customer support has been remarkable if the guys who have the kit are to be believed (and they are!). People in here who know their stuff RAVE about this kit and the guy who builds them.

This would be a GREAT choice and I don't think anyone in here would argue it- though I'm sure some in here would contend that the sky isn't even sky. They WOULD, however, agree that this is a great kit and probably the best option out there in its class.

I did some research and I must say the design of the kit is very impressive and attractive. I will message mr. Boosted performance to see what kind of possibilities I can make happen with this kit . 8.8 pistons it is. Thank you gentlement for your insight

We can order CP pistons (and some other brands if you prefer) in any compression ratio you like. We do this frequently when their off-the-shelf 8.5:1 and 11:1 do not fit our needs. As noted by others, if you haven't already purchased the SC, consider going with a turbo setup on your built motor. Let us know if we can help in any way.

Well me being new to F.I. applications i will be doing alot of research for what i need exactly. The Boosted Performance single turbo is looking really nice at the moment; which i will be messaging him in a few minutes about what would work best for my needs and possibly get back to you Hal is z1motorsports doesn't have what i require.

CP Pistons IMO is top of the line in terms of pistons. Wisecos are pretty good too, but I would look at your options. IMO, you will be as happy with a turbo kit as a SC kit. They both have their issues, but Vortecs for example have belt problems, and turbos with improper maintenance. Hal and BP are great examples of turbos>superchargers. my $.02

Hey OP, we offer custom Wiseco pistons at 9.7:1 Compression for these very needs. They keep good spool and low end TQ with FI applications and are a good compression for 93 Octane

Let me know if you are interested.

Do some more reading. Turbos are maintenance free.

Replied, and let me know if you have any other questions. You can also search "boosted performance" in the FI section, and find many happy customers/reviews.

Agreed, as long as you change the oil regularly and make sure no leaks pop up. Thats usually where things go south, bad oil and not regularly checking everything to make sure no leaks are present.

Not too mention if in cold temperatures, don't start and put the pedal to the floor, let it warm up like anything else.

11:1 would be excellent for an E85 or supercharger build.
