Default HKS S/C Belt Tension

Hey I just had both my cooling fan motors expire and in the process of changing out i had to remove the Blower belt for the HKS GT kit.

The fan motor replacement went ok but i'v just had made an educated guess on the belt tension as i dont have the proper tension tester.

Any tips on how much deflection on the lower/longest stretch of the belt.

One observation i have made is the belt significantle tightens with heat!@!

Thanks in advance.

1/4 turn when pressing on 1 finger is pretty tight, so somewhere around there

Apologies for not elaborating, the belt i'm referring to is the blower/super charger drive belt. I havn't overtightened as i thought i may do bearing damage to the blower. Tight as sh*t , i havn't gone that far, i can move it about 1/4 inch with one finger. Can you explain why Sam said "as tight as"
I didn't touch the belt driving the alternator power steering pump.

Thanks again.

Belt issues are a known SC issue.

Better gripping pullies means less "tight az shizzil" requirements.

good luck... im still searching for the best set up, but im running Vortech.

I go with the half inch finger pull, push test also, but this is the BELT COLD setting.

once its warm it will be pretty tight.

Thanks guys i'm gonna go with a bit of movement when cold ( about 1/4 inch ) as the belt gets tighter as it heats up.
