Default Boost Gauge help? Not reading boost

The gauge I have currently reads vacuum only. I have a vacuum line coming off of the plenum and no boost is read. However, when I put an air hose from a compressor to that vacuum line, it reads that air. What could be the problem? I'm currently on a vortech SC kit.

Thanks

Phil

which guage do you have? it shows the engine pulling a vacuum? if thats the case i would say you have a leak somewhere so the guage isnt reading what never makes it there.

Its a glowshift gauge... just something cheap I got for free. It doesn't leak though, as I use the same line from the bay with the air compressor.

Are you revving in your garage or testing it
O the street.

Vortech bpv bleeds boost until you get into heavy throttle.
Digital gauge? May be lagging some.

Ive always been under the impression that you don't make boost until your under a load, so I've driven it on the street. Its a digital gauge, but it never reads boost. 2k, 4k, 6k, nothing.

Maybe you're not making any boost.

If you make 414whp like in your sig then you should def. know if you're making boost or not. Are you saying it still pulls like it always has?

the only vacuum check valve in the car that i can think of is inserted into the brake boost vacuum line that connects from the passenger side of the plenum to the pipe on the side of the firewall... so unless your boost gauge is T'd off the brake booster line... its too hard to say from here, unless you just arent making boost. Are you positive that the car is supercharged?

Pretty positive but yes, it still pulls like before. Dunno what the problem is? Maybe I'll have to take it over to tach motor works when I get my AF and have them hook it up as well.
