Default I am looking at buying a turbo kit

As the title states, I am currently looking at purchasing a used turbo kit. The kit is a Turbonetics kit. It has only 7,000 miles on it. Here are some details about it.

Turbonetics T60 turbo with watercooled upgrade
-Upgraded and oversized turbo xs intercooler
-Turbo xs rfl blow off valve
-Tial 38mm wastegate with dump pipe
-Stainless Steel SRS turbo back 3" exhaust
-turbo xs utec with 3bar map sensor and 9 map selector switch
-Oil pan spacer, so you dont have to drill a hole in your block for the turbo oil return
-Plenum spacer
-RC 440cc injectors with pigtails
-Walbro 255 fuel pump

The kit seems to be well taken care of. I have looked at the pictures of it, just making time to go look at it in person.

My question is, is it worth it? I have negotiated well with him, as he is willing to sell it to me for $2,200.

The other thing I was wondering, is if there are any owners of this kit on here that can give me some more input on it. Like are you happy with the power and the power band? Any reliablity issues?

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have no set budget. I am in the process of gathering everything for my turbo ls swap. So this will only be to hold me over. I am not looking for big power. Just something more than I have. I already am full bolt on's with custom dyno tune. The car is a '03 with only 27,000 miles. But as I said, I am goin LS swap later. I already purchsed the engine, now just waiting to fully build it and custom fab a turbo set up.

Some strange points you are making but best of luck to you....I mean you also say you don't want a lot of big HP but I'm sure a turbo "kit" and or an LS1 swap would give you some serious power over the stock VQ. Lets see some pics too!

Why waste your money just to "hold you over"? I am in the middle of a sim boost project and it will not only cost your 2200. Min 5-7k.

Save the 2k and put it towards the "Turbo LS Swap"

When I stated I was not looking for big HP,I was referring to the Turbo kit. The ls swap will be a big HP project. And to hold me over, that's because the ls swap ans build may take me about a year to aquire all the parts.

That timetable should be a zero issue. I find it hard to believe that someone doing that serious of a swap would feel it is worth the time, effort or money to do a TN single.

Plus, that swap (turbo LS) indicates you should have some sort of general FI know how, in which case I am doubly surprised you are asking about what is generally considered the worst FI kit on the market for our cars.

Even if you have a large wallet and no know how, I would think you had a nice enough DD to wait for the BIG build.

If you want a hold over just spray it. Much cheaper. Same outcome can be had. You can prob pick up a used complete kit for 500-1k then tune it. SO maybe $1500-2000 all done. And get you mid to high 3xx.

I do have knowledge in forced induction. I was simply asking about this kit as I am new to the 350z world.

i have a barely used greddy 18g DE/revup tt kit if your interested ill give you a good deal on it.

turbonetics kits are a waste of time you'll end up putting more money into it and be at the same place to get it on par with other kits on the market
