Trade my boosted Z for R33 Skyline GTST?
Trying to decide if I should trade my boosted 350Z that is making 500+ rwhp (final tuning this week) on a freshly built motor for a stock R33 Skyline GTST. The car has 50k miles on it, looks good, HKS coilovers, interior in great shape, etc. When I started the Z project it was just my wife and I. Fast forward to now and we have a new baby boy and no back seat to put him in.
While I certainly will take a big hit on horsepower I pick up the cool factor driving a rare vehicle that is right hand drive. Already have the title issue sorted out so registering the car is not an issue.
Does anyone here have any experience with R33's?
Thanks,
Jeremy

Depends on what you want out of the car, where you live, and if the car is federally legal.
If it was a motorex r33 that wasn't beaten on, and I got some cash on it too I would do it.
The rb25 sucks, but that car would be PRIME for an rb30 block. Add in non ghey looking plenum, cams, power fc or whatever you want really, 76mm precision, couple of wastegates, clutch, fuel system, top mount manifold, 1000+cc injectors, and some meth injection, and you're set. Just check out what RIPS does with rb30's NOMNOMNOM
A bit over kill for most people, butfockit

Z Fever finished up some minor gremlins on the Z today and will have the final tune done tomorrow. I will start a new thread to cover the nightmare the last 13 months have been once the car is 100% complete.
I will take picks of both cars when I pick it up on Saturday and post them up. Given that my Z is now basically brand new with built motor, new turbo, new coilovers, new brakes, new clutch, new tires, etc. the Z is the smart play.
I was so frustrated last night that I was ready to throw in the keys and the title to make the trade.
Either way I will still post pics of both on Saturday.

GTS...not worth it just for that. Be wary of 96's registered as 95's, Motorex or not, if the feds catch on, they will deport it. If it has an OBD2 port, that's your sign it's a 96.
If you still want to go through with it, call Nissan Motorsports. I forget the guy there now, but he has the manifest list of cars illegally imported as 95's. They won't rat you out to the feds, but you can know before you make your decision.
It sounds like you have post partem depression with your Z now after you dumped a ton of money into it...I got that feeling and it seems many et it as well.... is it not running right?

i thought both 95 and 96 gtst and gtr where legal for import? was my understanding both where submitted for crash testing and passed.
anyway theres ways of not having it deported, tell em its a track only car that dosnt see the street and they cant deport it. i wouldnt advise driving it on the street though or attempting to register it...........................
