the best motoring videos are about as unscientific as you can get as it comes to testing. they are great entertainment, and that's about it.

How were you crushed? Becuase on one day, an R33 lost to an STi or Evo? There are so many factos involved, as I am sure you know, I would not let 1 "result" skew your thinkings...the GTR is, and will always be, the best example of performance lineage Nissan delves out...its their Corvette, their 911....it's their Legacy car.

Nissan is unique though in that the Z is another legacy car....not too many other manufacturers have this distiniction.

Having had the pleaseure to drive all of these cars in my lifetime, the GTR's as Victor and Sean said above are very easy cars to drive fast....no need to wind em out or shift like mad to get good velocity, especially on the highway.

Now, in terms of nimbleness, I'd have to say R32 would be for me....felt the most tossable (I have driven a handful of tuned ones when I've been in Japan). R34 has always felt a bit heavy for me, and its a bit slow to respond to handling changes (i.e mountain roads) compared to an R32, but its a killer highway car, and for arond town, I'd get one in a heartbeat. Though we have been tuning Subaru;s for ages now, and I know em like the back of my hand, they are not the most confidence inspiring machines ever to handle a backroad...the Evo wipes the floor with them everytime.

Anyway, I am sure Victor has a couple on hand he'd love to work a deal on
