Default S&R single turbo kit

I've been a member here since 2007 and have learned an incredible amount from the community here. I started looking at getting the Greddy TT setup but thought that the price was a bit out of my reach at the time. A few years later I heard about the Momentum ST kit from the guys at S&R performance in Tampa, FL. These guys had a great facility and showed real knowledge of our platform. Soon after that I had them tune my car with Osiris netting me 264whp/245wtq. When I was finally ready to order the Momentum kit I was notified that they had gone out of business!! S&R asked me if I wanted to be part of the prototype process for their own ST kit and I jumped on it.

Engine today.

I've had the kit for almost 5,000 miles and haven't had a single issue. The guys at S&R did a great job and I couldn't be happier with my setup.

Congrats. Which Precision 62mm turbo do you have? 6262 or 6266? Also what size turbine housing?

I wonder if its just the smoothing they use on their graphs or the kit itself, but that boost curve is sooo lazy.

The fab work is very nice for sure!

I don't know man, on first an second gear it goes from 1psi to 6psi in an instant. This is a fourth gear pull so I don't know what would make the boost curve seem "lazy". It feels great on the street though!

its not hitting max boost til after 5500 rpms.

i guess with no boost controller and just on such a light spring, maybe thats just how those curves look.

6psi is barely even spinning that wheel. lol

I know!! that turbo isn't even waking up yet. I might get a boost controller an up the boost, but i don't know how much the engine can take? I got stock internals!

If I remember correctly I hit max boost at around 4700-4800rpm.

That's pretty laggy for a T3 .82 turbine housing. A GT35R is usually fully spooled by ~3500RPM. I would expect the same or better from a billet PTE 6262 CEA with a T3 housing.

I don't know what makes it laggy compared to the GT35R. Is there anything I can do about it?

The new 6262 CEA with a T3 .82 turbine housing should spool quicker than a 35R. I'd ask S & R for an explanation as to why it's not spooling up quicker.

for what boost your running that i absurd, i hit 20 psi by the same rpm your hiting 6.3 psi with a 6765 t4 .96 ar which is far bigger if your actually hitting that at 4700-4800. hell i think i hit that by 3k mayby slightly later, i am running 15 spring setup though.

A quality EBC should quicken the spool. Spring alone are always going to be a bit laggy.

This morning on my way to work I made a point to check when the car was making max boost. On first and second gear max 6psi came in an instant (~2500rpm). On 3rd - 5th, 6psi was reached at around 3500rpm. In one 4th gear pull it reached 6psi ~3000rpm. The car feels strong and pulls hard all the way to redline. I don't know why the boost curve shows 6psi at ~4700rpm on the dyno results.

The plan is to get an EBC in the next month or two. I'm just wondering how much boost should i go with? or if I stay lets say at 6.5psi, how would it help to spool faster?

It holds the wastegate closed longer. The spring alone will open slowly as soon as you start building pressure.
