Hehe, lets start here.

Get an 04-06 or 07-08?

Is the HR worth the extra money or just get the DE with a new block/pistons/rods?

block isn't nessicary. HR isn't a good idea as we recently have seen a stock rod in one of those let go at the 500 level

Well what do you guys think, is a built DE better then an HR? It's going to cost roughly the same amount for a built DE as just getting the HR. Just trying to figure out what the better way to go is.

So just stock DE then. That solves alot of problems and saves a lot of money.

You don't agree with that article on doing twin turbos right?

So if I want to hit 500hp comfortably what do I need to do to the engine? Absolutely bone stock with just the bolt on turbo???
Or still get new pistons rods etc but the block isn't required?

to get an HR car you will pay an additional 6-10k upfront more. and the HR car may yield a tiny but more HP but it will also yield a little less torque. And there is less aftermarket parts available for the HR. I have a built HR with a gtm twin kit on it so im pretty familar with it.

Get a de save yourself the money

as i said earlier in the thread. you will need pistons rods bearings. and the machining that goes along with it. personally i would go with a greddy twin kit (20g) but there is also other options such as the boosted performance single kit that makes good power and is a simple install. you will need exhaust obv. and then for a tuning solution since your not aiming for huge power goals you would be fine with getting by on osiris with a boost controller and an air to fuel gauge.

now that i have spoon fed you all the nessicary information quit asking dumb questions.

Where is Alberto when you need him. Sigh. OP tell your brother to buy a GT-R and buy the Alpha 6 kit. It's what I'm doing now.

Better yet contact Z fever in Florida. They can swap in the VR38dett botton end then use 370z heads and the greddy tt kit. Start with a better motor. They are building one now.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ plus honestly don't like GTR's that much. They're insanely fast and amazing for the price but just personally don't like them that much.

Call Z fever, but you're in the budget of what it could potentially cost.

I don't know how they figured out the transmission, but those guys are some impressive engineers.
