If you find a Z for $10k, you only have $25k to mod. I doubt for a "built" car that $25k is enough for mods. I'm in about $10k just in exterior mods. Not including paint or wheels. Something to really think about if you are trying to build a car inside and out.
There is always more stuff to do lol.

I'd personally grab some nice cams, l19's, slightly thicker head gasket, top speed top mount mani, any billet t4 turbo etc, hondata + map sensor... you know the regular stuff. Would be easy to build. Only problem seems to be the transmission. Nothing that can't be dealt with.

Especially considering ap1's go for cheap, and having ridden in a few 'track' s2k's, I really like the way they handle. Still like the Z the most, but s2k's are very gokart... aside from the snap under-steer which is terrifying.
I guess we're considering s2k's now. Lol, my brother changed his mind. Thanks for the suggestion.

Here is my opinion

Buy an 03-06 in good condition with low miles or you buy one in excellent condition with a blown motor for much less

I don't know what your power goals are but lets say its 500-600whp, that means you can stick to a simple motor build and you dont even need major headwork, just need to have them checked and let your motor builder tell you what you need to do. I am all about keeping it simple.

Greddy TT Kit
Injector Dynamics 850cc Injectors
Cosworth 8:8.1 Pistons
Carillo H-Beam Rods
ARP L19 Head studs
ARP Main Studs
Cosworth Headgaskets
RevUp Oil Pump
ACL Bearings
ATI Harmonic Balancer or Fluidampr
True Dual Exhaust
CJM Stage 2 Return Fuel System
Walbro 485 or CJM Twin 255 Fuel Pump
Cosworth Intake Manifold
Haltech Engine Management System
Haltech Dual Wideband Sensors

There is a lot more i would recommend but that would be a good basis for everything else.

All the signs were there from the start.
1.) "It's not for me, it's for ________"
2.) "...fast AND reliable"
3.) Doesn't own Z, yet.

A) there are two types of reliable

I made it pretty clear I didn't have a Z yet from the beginning. Did you not notice the million times I asked if a DE would be better to start out with then an HR.

if you have nothing constructive to say please leave.

depends on your history, age, etc as well as the company you choose and heavily on the zip code you reside.

What I pay for state farm is about 1/4 of what most of my friends pay for those crap online insurance companies that will screw you if you have something go wrong. I've had a few mishaps with my car in which someone else wrecked into me. State farm covered it asap and then went after the other insurance with no extra cost from me except my 1$ a month under insured coverage and 2$ a month uninsured coverage. Well worth having a local agent and real company.

Anyone in canada, if you are a professional check with TD Meloche monnex, ridiculously cheap for professionals.
