Default noise, vibration with gtm stg 2 SC

Hello all,

I've been lurking for some time trying to gleen as much as I can. I have a 08 HR and am heavily leaning to the gtm sc. I have a vortech'd S2000 at 13 lbs and enjoy the linear feel of the sc and the low "advil" coefficient. I've also turbo'd NA engines and have come to the same consensus as I have read here.

My question is for those using the engine mounts for the stg 2 gtm sc. How is the noise/vibration. I can tell you for the S2000, polyurethane engine mounts are horrible. The car shakes itself to pieces. I was wondering what the experience in the 350z is. I'd really like to make 500whp via sc, but not at the cost of having my fillings shaken out. Looking at the sc dynos from gtm it appears the stages 1 and 2 and are near identical up to 5k rpm. After that the stg 2 pulls away. So for 2.5k rpm the stg 2 dominates. If I had to, I could content myself with the stg 1, but I'd really really like to have that 500whpaAnd it'd be nice to have some separation between the s2000 and 350z. I know it's silly, but we all have our quirks.

Thanks for the bandwidth.

if you keep your stock motor mounts, there is no additional noise/vibration etc

I'm running the stg 1.5 with the passenger gtm mount and the NVH isn't that bad.

I was going to replace the driver side mount as well but I faced some fitment issues so I stayed with the stock mount. I also spoke to a guy with the same setup on a 370 and he said the vibration with both mounts was too much for his taste especially with an AT.

You might be able to run the stg 2 with just the passenger side mount but I'd ask GTM if they support that configuration. You will have to do something with the passenger side mount no matter what though, the SC/intake pipe/filter will not fit on the HR with the stock mount with the STG 1.5/2 kit.

^Thanks for the feedback. So it sounds like it's a noticable difference but not so much as to be patently intolerable. I wish they had found a way to use some type of rubber mount. I wonder if I could use rubber bushings instead of the urethane ones. Looks like stg 1 plus meth/failsafe.
