Default Supercharger question

So I think I am going to buy a supercharger for my 2006 z. I have an automatic. I don't know much about modding, but I know I want more horsepower and speed and I am starting to get addicted! A few questions I have are:

I don't have an intake or exhaust or any modification done to my car, would just putting a supercharger on with no other mods be "appropriate"?

Is there a way to buy a used supercharger to save money, or is that a bad idea?

Does a supercharger put extra stress on an engine reducing the life expectancy of the engine?

With a supercharger, what kind of numbers should I expect a stock automatic z to be running 0-60 and 1/4 mile?

I know these are rather broad questions, and I am sure if I searched enough I could find these answers, but I figured someone would be able to give me a few quick answers if I just made a thread for these questions

Thanks guys!

I see you are back...
A supercharger will work nicely with a 5AT Z without any other modifications
to the engine. However,to get the best out of your investment, its wise to
do appropriate exhaust, cooling, intake mods.A tune is critical to ensure that
everything is working to top efficiency.A few comments that you have made,
"to save money" etc are worrisome. For sure, you will find used SC set ups
for sale.Obviously you don't have the expertise to determine if "all the parts
are there".Suggest if you are serious about FI for your car,to find a shop in your
area that can handle the whole project. For a new SC system like a Vortech, you
are talking about 7k with labor. You add in the other components that you would
to get the most out of the installation,I'd budget 10k to do it right.

Slapping on a supercharger shouldnt be an issue. With no supporting mods, you are better off keeping the stock pulley on & while staying conservative. If you plan on upping the boost, i'd recommend a valve body upgrade, a trans cooler, supporting gauges to monitor everything and some boltons to increase airflow. One thing to remember is the tune is the most important part. Do your homework in the FI section

Just don't get a Stillen SC if you want more than "complete bolton power". I've seen quite a few Stillen SC posters claim that they ended up with 260-300whp...not adequate gains for the money spent IMO.

dont be one of those guys. Take terra's advice. Dont go straight to a supercharger. It will cost you and you dont seem like you know too much about Z's or cars really. And Supercharger with AT trans.......= not fun and expensive you'll see if you do it. Also my thought process is to make the car handle and stop beore you pack more HP then you can really handle. Otherwise you have a rocketship and there are only a few ways to turn or stop one of those

Some valid advice...
Question:have you DRIVEN a 5AT Z with a supercharger?
I have.If done right,its a pretty smooth combination.
There is no lag, just a steady flow of power like something
is reeling you in.Not cheap but, less than a turbo which is not
practical on a AT.Years ago I had a Paxton on a small block Ford
engine with AT.It was a blast to drive.

I have driven a TT and a Vortech FI 5AT car, both had/had major heat issues daily driving in the summer out here.

Yes they were both fun, yes both had to dump tons of money in after to make it actually streetable.

TT car was 370hp
Vortech car 3.3 pulley has 317 hp
