Default P0345, hard starts, despite new sensor, ideas?

So it turns out my previous no start issue was a defective new battery. Replaced the bank 2 camshaft sensor 3 times based on the code but no success. Car still takes forever to start, vdc and slip light on. The only thing is that the car runs perfect once started, no rough idle, boosts and pulls all the way to redline, i am totally stumped, any ideas?

Replaced the bank 2 sensor 3 times?Wow...
Did you use a OEM sensor or a aftermarket?
At times its best to change both sensors.
At least the bank 1 sensor is easier to change!
I've had problems using aftermarket sensors(Delphi).
I alway use OEM.I'd replace both sensors with OEM
units and see what happens.I'd also check the crank sensor.

Crank sensor / flywheel? Cam and crank sensor work in together and in some cases can trigger each other's codes or symptoms. Could also be a cam timing issue on that bank triggering the frequent code.

anything changed with the flywheel or clutch?

If putting a new sensor in doesn't help then it could be a problem in the harness to the sensor.

Did the car ever run before with the ss box and everything on it?

Put an oscilloscope on it if you have one and see if the waveform is all messed up.

any auto shop worth a **** has a O-scope. Just tell them you need to scope your crank and cam sensors.

Hay Vash,

I bring this up only because you have had Battery Problems.......and car would Not Start.

Did you put a Good Full Charge on your New Battery?

If Not, please do so and report back.

Hey Tim,

Driven the car a few times on the new battery so I am confident it has a full charge, the new battery will easly crank the car over repeatedly until it decides to start. Battery is a brand new deka 30etxl

I'm not Confident....... Brand new or not........

The reason I know this Could be a problem is that, one day my car would not start or Fire, but it cranked just Fine..... Hum...... Odd I thought.....

So just for the hell of it, I put it on the charger @ 3Amps, for 4 hours. Car Fired Instantly.......I've had a slightly Low battery before with same problem. Charging Battery solved it Every time.

So for peace of mind, and to eliminate the Battery as a posible problem, put it on a low charge of 3 amps over night. The worst that could happen is that I'm Wrong.

Remember, Your problems all started when you installed a new battery.

Also, when you replaced the Battery, you Lost All of your" ECU Learning Memory" and depending on how Close or how Far out your SplitSecond Fuel Map is, in Closed Loop and Start-Up, it will take some Time to Relearn, and get better with time.

You also should re-do "Accelerator Pedal Release Position", Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning" and Idle Air Volume Learning (Throttle Position Learning)". Look in your Service Manual. Also on the the Technosquare Website, if they are still around.

Look at the service manual for the procedure. There is a list of about 15 things that must be perfect for the reset to actually hold. If it doesn't meet just 1 of those requirements then it looks like it resets but it does not.

It is even as specific as having the front wheels perfectly straight, coolant temps a certain temp, etc.

Also, the alternator won't put 100% charge on a battery like a battery charger does. That's why all the instructions for brand new batteries say to charge it with a charger before using.
