Default motor coming out..

Ok so due to the turbos needing to be rebuilt, the motor will be coming out very soon. Just this last April before the BBORR We did a leak down, compression test etc..all is good, but the turbos need to be rebuilt and the exhaust manifolds gaskets are shot....
So what other things should I do while the motor is out?
Thoughts are...

Turbo blankets..
Pathfinder mod
expansion tank install
oil cooler

What else should I do..or what would you do?

TIA

Are you all function > form or are you looking for cosmetic mods as well?

Also... seen some people question how effective the blankets are- in that while they may protect exposed components they may retain heat that in fact damages the turbos. That's the way I understood it, anyway.

Ceramic coating hot side, manifolds etc...

If you've ever wanted to get your timing chain cover polished... might be the time.

These coatings may be worth a look as well- I think the 350 has more "heat" issues than the G so might be worth consideration:

I can't see what you've already done so I don't want to spout off a bunch of stuff you've already done.

i DEI ( heat barrier) coated my entire firewall, battery and brake compartments and the transmission tunnel w silver diamond/fiberglass/tape materials while mine was out. Was very simple to do.

the start...

the final...

ALso, a big yes on the pathfinder mod. i did that as well.

and +100 to polishing the timing cover.. in hindsight im kicking myself for not doing that.

Might as well do the TB and the plenum as well if you havent already.

Aside from that, mostly everything else can happen when the engines back in.

Got time for a wire tuck?lol.

Ok so no to the blankets...DEFINITELY will do / re-do heat shielding..

hmmm polishing the timing cover..they look REALLY badass polished...honestly do NOT think I would have the patience for that and I have a few things already colormatched to the paint ..the engine cover is painted to match the car and is in place..so you wouldn't even see it...Throttle body , plenum etc is already polished..

Pathfinder mod check!
oil cooler check...
definitely going to do the expansion tank..
anything else?

If you try the wire tuck, you can just unravel the factory loom w/o cutting anything and reroute wires to be out of sight. I did this and the results were amazing. Consider painting the engine bay too.

I would advise against having the timing cover polished. Mine was expensive to do, always looked meh and upkeep is a *****. I would say just clean it up real nice and have someone paint and clear it.
