Thanks! Turbos didnt arrive today...but says they are in Denver...so maybe tomorrow? The TotalD cloned a set and they are pretty good ... passenger side needed about a 1/2" extension but not a big deal...

back on it...tackling the drivers side first...been waiting on AN fittings...but got a few things buttoned up like the test pipes/Ypipe, o2 sensors, waste gates are all wrapped up, boost control solenoid, vac block...

a few pictures...

more for comparison - going to have a set of solid engine mounts fab'd-up ... similar to what Z1 sells but I have a little bit of a twist as far as ease-of-installation goes.

Additionally want fabricate the bracket between the mount and the engine block - hoping to free up space for the intake duct(down the road)...

In an effort to not repeat the same issues that blitzed my previous turbos I've installed oil pressure gauges at the blowers - running simple mechanical gauges.

Do they sell this or was it custom built for your setup? I have Greddy setup and would love open dumps
Are they installed yet?

^your man is Jeramiah, 'TotalD' on this forum. He runs Sucker Punch Motorsports. He's around $325 for the kit. Couldnt say nicer things about Jeramiah and the kit is fabricated with high quality parts and the welds are top notch. May not be able to tell from the pictures but the appropriate flanges are threaded which helped a ton. I did need to run a 1/2" spacer on my passenger side waste gate (between the greddy manifold and the pipe) and also took 3/4" off the dump pipe after the waste gate...but I'm not concerned with either.

you need to clock that driver side turbo CHRA some. The oil feed/return should be as close to vertical as you can get it. youre sitting at about the 1:45 position, need to be at noon.

Oil needs to drain.

Cux - yea...that 90* hard pipe is my constraint as it's hitting the mount...luckily my solid mounts are finished and I should get them tonight which should help...additionally, I just bought a TIG so if I gotta re-weld those IC ducts can.

Thanks for the heads up and input - much appreciated

I like the thinner profile in the middle..more clearance for the intake coupler on pass side

You can clock the CHRA relative the the impeller housing as well. It is held in place by a large snap ring. Any time they are rebuilt you normally need to check the clock or even better mark it before hand.

Everything is back together...

I re-plumbed the blowers so the charge-pipe and oil feed line up accordingly...

looking up at the blowers...couldnt fit the AN fitting, a AN / 1/8"NPT Tee and the feed line...so I made a 8" line off the blower take the AN / 1/8"NPT tee...worked out well...will give me a few options here down the road.

I'm not sure if it was coincidence, me being paranoid, or truly an issue but the blowers were spinning at an abnormally slow rate (~10 RPMs). My fear was they were not getting lubricated. Checked multiple spots along the oil lines and it appeared that oil was flowing. Regardless, I swapped the oil feed line to the OEM oil pressure sensor port.

Everything bolted back together and need to wrap up a few loose ends ...

Hat-tip to Cux350z and 35Reilly for their help in clearing up the air on the MAC boost control solenoid. This was something I was going to leave to my tuner but I'm glad I got it worked out.

ordered a second set of AN3 hoses and a few misc fittings for the top port of the wastegates ... in the meantime - a buddy welded on a AN3 to my intake track - post IC, Post BOV, Pre-TB.

With the solid engine mounts installed and ready to go it was foolish to rely on the OEM polymer transmission mount. Member Fixxxcask had a Z1 polyurethane un-used and threw me a deal on it. Should be in early this week and I can get the mounts buttoned-up. Was disappointed with the nissan OEM mount...happy to get something a little more significant in there.

It's a pet-peeve of mine but I cannot stand those greddy-blue intercooler pipe couplers...I understand a few are necessary ... but they are f'n annoying...

My buddy (with the welding skills) and I fab'd up and welded the aluminum charge pipes. We were able to fab the drivers side line as a single piece - I thought it came out pretty good and his welds looked really good.

while the passenger side was done in two pieces due to it's curls & wraps.

Who did you get these motor mounts from? They look good i like the machined look. Z1 sells something similar with their 6 shooter mounts but id like to go with these also if i can get my hands on a set.

They are a one off - I designed with the help of a machinist here in Colorado...they came out better than I design based on the machinist's skill & experience (he's does a lot of custom vintage VW work). Very similar to Z1s but these install/uninstall significantly easier and more efficient with the bolt drop through design. PM me for more details.

Good G-d'it! Fncken installed a urethane motor mount ...went just fine...

lying on my back basically cranking a 1/2" bolt (between the cross member and the urethane mount) for final torquing, fncken box wrench came off the bolt and I clocked the **** out of myself...cut open my lip on my teeth...I'm a big puss...

The trans mount came in as did my AN3 fittings needed for the top port of the waste gates...hoses and sintered filter (for the boost solenoid) some time this week. I think I can get the car on the ground for some road testing...

need to cut a little 1/8" thick 'doughnuts' to mount the secondary oil filter...

its done now ... I'd like to do some road tuning & test to ensure it's ready for the dyno.

A buddy owes me $500...once I get that I'll go and formally tune!

There's not much to hear, they are raw sounding and very loud when they open up, you just got to like really loud and raw sound. Not exhaust note loud, just raw loud.

I had open dumps on my old DE with Greddy kit and the dumps basically drowned out the exhaust note at WOT. If you want to hear an exhaust note I'd suggest recirculated, otherwise, go ***** out open dumps haha.
