Chalk this up to weight reduction...Braille 11lb battery replacing a walmart 42lb battery. I'll also be replacing the aluminum tray and a good chunk of wiring.

Hoping to see a 40lb reduction in weight but it may be a little closer to 35lbs

Not sure 35 lb weight saving is worth the starting issues in cold weather (it's basically 1/2 the CCA)...

Valid point - my caveat is that rarely start/run the car in temperatures below 60 degrees. I fired the car up last night (albeit it was 75 degrees ambient temp) and it started within 2-3 seconds. I'll post a video.

I'm more concerned with hot-starts than cold starts!!

I also reduced my wiring (as I'm relocating this to the passenger-side footwell) and swapped out battery basket - so my final reduction was 38lbs.

Youll need to reupload most your pics using a different hosting site, or just your computer. PhotoBucket is black mailing everyone for $400 charge so unless you or others viewing have paid up , your pics cant be viewed.

Photobucket is dumb...who is gonna pay that much when there are other services out there for for significantly less (if not free).

I'll slowly, but surely, relink my photos and delete my PB account.

I'll snag one...it's in the grey area because my boost control solenoid wasn't functioning (user error) they waste gates springs give & the waste gates push open around 4000rpm...

lets get updated...

battery mounted passenger side wheel-well ... I need to figure a way to bolt in in place but it's pretty snug in place.

Starts easy, surprisingly easier than my previous setup - likely because I had a big long wire running to the back of the chassis. When all said and done I dropped 38lbs of weight.

Power Steering removed ... ran belt-less for a month or two and it wasnt too bad. Turning became easier with the lighter wheels.

I took 14lbs off the front end and more importantly I'm able to run a 3" filter to turbo inlet line rather than Greddy's crass-ackwards setup. Filled & capped the rack with the OEM fittings.

Replaced OEM Alt w/lightweight alternator. Picked this unit up from DB Electric out of Kansas. Was $60 and I dropped 10lbs off the front of the car. The alternator runs 40amps at 2500rpm, 56amps at 6000rpms. Install was pretty straight forward as far as the wiring goes.

Although it'll probably have to replaced, installed a heim joint on threaded-rod to put tension on the belt (hidden behind the belt). Along with a shim, swapped over the OEM pulley on this alternator.

I'm half nervous about the smaller battery and smaller alternator. But I really not running anything significant off either - headlights? fuel pump? o2 sensors?

a month or so ago found a set of 18x10.5 RPF1s - some minor but noticeable curb-rash. The seller was pretty flexible with price as he was clearing stuff out of his garage and got down to $640 on them.

The current wheels (20" TSW Indy 500s) are nice but damn they are heavy! (57lbs front / 65lbs rear) The RPF1s are coming in around 45lbs. So I was able to drop 64lbs of rotating mass.

not a fan of the black wheels ... strip them down, dust them with a wire wheel and get them powder-coating ... not trying to be boring but I'll probably go with a hyper-silver.

got ambitious last week and it was time to get these damn hood louvers installed ... I couldnt find anything that I really liked and nothing against the volex variant but I need something a little bigger and something higher up on the hood, ultimately to evacuate heat from the headers & turbos...so I had some cut...sketched up some cad files and sent it off to a guy that has a plasma-cam. Used 16th inch steel, wanted to use aluminum but was afraid it'd fracture/weaken at the bends.
