dry doesn't touch water...just overbore stock sleeves and press in unlike wey you have to bore all the stock linr, waterjackets out and install a new wet liner that has water jackets in the new liner....

Yea okay, problem with most shops is they take your money, over promise and under deliver. So, going to these so called big shops makes you wonder is it just another place to lose money. Believe I've worked at my share of shops that have some of the fastest cars out there. And no not UGR! What I'm trying to say big shop or not you can still get screscrewed over. Obviously, shops want to make money, from reading and talking to D, money isn't an issue. So, your point is really invalid. The Z could be fast, but not everyone wants to work on V6, or put the r/d to make it happen. Only a few shops have pushed the limits. There's VQ'S in the 6s so, we know they can be made to make power.

D, look forward to seeing the end result buddy. I'm about to start back on mine once I can get some strength in my left hand. Don't know if you saw or not, I'm working on billet oil pump gears and valve covers. I'll keep you updated by text.

This is really where I was trying to go with this. The 350z is not as well supported as a lambo, vett or mustang. The 2000 hp GTR is running a billet block and it is still a time bomb. There is something to be said about displacement when going for the moon with HP

Understandable, glad we can agree on this. Displacement definitely helps with hitting the higher power numbers. In a game that used to be, we turbo our I4, V6, I6 to beat on V8s and such, now has come to well our little motors are basically screwed compared to the likes of the V8s and higher. American stuff us just cheap compared to our builds. Like D here, my car isn't going anywhere so I may as well see what I can do with my motor. Hopefully billet mains, sleeves, and billet girdle, I'll be able to keep my block together. Still even if I make my goal, I'm still pushing harder to make the power these other cars will make with less effort. Sucks, but it is what it is. I'm not making a lambo killer, just making something to have fun with and beat some of the pecker measurers that have no clue what they are doing besides putting their right foot down. I'm sure if we all could, we'd be jumping ship to a V10 platform or something of that nature. Just not going to catch me in an American car, well maybe the new viper or z06 but that's really pushing it.

I agree completely with you Total D. You could always put an american V8 in your car and boost it and make the power pretty easily. If I remember right, the 350z diff will hold the power, but even the 1400 hp axles can snap at about 800tq.

I would like a 5th gen Viper myself...

I'm pretty sure there is no billet VR out there currently in any cars. as far as i know its in the works..

From what I understand, AMS either has to one or will have one soon. There are pictures of the block online. Ball park pricing just for the block is $15k

Yeah, AMS has one milled, and Titan had one awhile ago but i guess it wasn't used. From my understanding though its not in any GTR yet. Def. looking forward to what it does. Did that VR38 block to VQ heads ever get finished/started?

hey J!what happened to ur hand? fall off the s 1000? I got hit by a truck 6 weeks ago..turned in front of me....flipped-40 ft flat on back in parking lot...totaled my repsol cbr 1000..so now its just me, 2 RC 51's and a blown vq motor....

By the way, I have a set of ID 2000cc injectors for sale-my APS 880's are the ones that stuck open and washed my cylinder..they're for sale too...sell or trade either for 1200 or 1000cc new injectors.

Hey D,

More like got thrown from the bike, highside lol. Totaled the bike . Dang sorry to hear about that man. Glad you still with us and it was in a parking lot. On the main roads it could have been a lot worse. At least you still have something ride. Blown motor? Man your luck right now needs to turn around. I keep saying I'm going to start on mine but other things come up that need to be taken care of before I mess with the car. Good luck on the build and recovery.

crash was on main hwy, accelerating wfo in 3rd...I LANDED in a parking lot 40 ft away, flipped....wow, ur s 1000 is gone? DUUUUDE...ur lucks like mine.

Z engine is out and theyre measuring the rods ti see if the stroker will work with pistons in stock...otherwise, 2 wk wait....THEN build install tune...lol..6 months?

Found out why my engine *****...Sam Cokksuckergrande zawahara, of GTM notoriety, left some type of plastic looking piston ring inside the engine when he built it..intentionally? who knows with that prikk....

plastic melted, contaminated oil and spread black plastic crap throughout the motor...
at least now I know what happened.
