Default vortech SC trim for rev-up???...limits??

So, last year i purchased a used vortech v2 head unit( polished and in great condition) and started building my kit, and now it's all finished, i've finally completed it. Just waiting for spring to install.

ONE PROBLEM(possibly?)....without even thinking about it until this past week, I just found out that it's an SC-trim.(not sc-i)

This is going on an '06 Rev-up. my power goal is around 400whp/340-50wtq. Are there limits with this SC blower trim for my goals? I know with the newer head units on a Rev-up you can put 400whp down with the 3.12 pulley quite easily(with supporting mods). Will i be able to pull this off with the 3.12 pulley still, or will i have to jump up to the 2.87?

I'm slightly concerned about this right now, especially after buying mostly new parts to finish off this kit.

There are people running the SC trim blowers up to 500 - 600whp with the 928 impeller upgrade. You can also change your cog set up, if you have the rev-up kit, from 34/32 to a 32/28 tooth set up for more boost. The potential is definately there...

hmmm.....changing that cog setup is the same as running 2.87 pulley though, is it not? My thing is, i didn't want to run a crazy amount of boost. i've been reading so much of guys with rev-ups running 3.12 and putting down great numbers....guess i should have dug a little deeper.

.....i don't mind if i have to be running a 2.87, as long as boost isn't over 11/12 lbs

You can always send the blower into Vortech and have it upgraded to sci trim for 400 bucks or so I think it is.

For 400whp you'll be fine...

I'm going to assume you're saying this based on me going with the 2.87 pulley?
If this blower will perform to 400whp, then I will keep it as is for now, at least until i have the urge for more and at that point i can upgrade the impeller. I just hate the thought of sending it in at this point for the upgrade.

I'm hoping to not have to do that right now. hope to be able to pull it off without upgrading the impeller. that will be my last resort at this point.

Hey Colombo, was that with an older SC trim though? I know many people are doing it with the newer trims, but haven't heard much on the SC trim without upgrading the impeller and that's more my concern.

I also made ~400whp on my stock block with my V2 SC trim with just a 2.87...it's the bigger +500whp build that will need the impeller/blower upgrades...

Although OldMan350z did overspin his stock blower up to ~500whp
