Default Used Z advice

Can someone help appraise this for me? Also what about the street value of the kit if parted out?

2003 350z greddy 18G / utec
120k miles (70k boosted) stock block
runs/boosts but has some OC (probably both engine and turbos) 1/2 qt per 1k
minor rust / wear and tear from being daily driven during winter
clean title

my opinion is right around $8k to $10k if this were in colorado. Zs go for $8k to $20k here, the turbo kit is a wash…yeah, it's extra parts but they are well into their lives. The car itself is a littler higher mileage. We all know these things can go forever but a potential buyer does not. The minor rust sorta raises a red flag but the wear & tear does not, it's a used car that is 10years old.

keep us posted on the sale -

I bought my '03 with 120k miles for 9k. The turbo kit adds a little value, but if a compression test were to show a problem, then I would agree with 8k ballpark.

How much do you guys think the greddy 18G kit and all the supporting parts are worth as-is, assuming the turbos probably need to be rebuilt?

I’d think the turbo kit would at least be worth $3.5k IMO…

Edit: I’m not sure how much it would cost to rebuild a pair of Greddy turbochargers though… I assumed it’d be around $600…

I bought a used 18g kit, plus the intercooler and a few other goodies, no Emangage, no injectors for $1800 with the notion that I would spend $1000 to rebuild both blowers

Already bought it. Havent decided if I want to part it or sell it as is (or maybe even keep it) but at least I have options. The input from this thread was good news.

As much as I'd like to, I don't need another money pit. The current plan is to take care of some basic maintenance, clean it up, retune it and sell. If I can't sell it for what I want, THEN I might keep it .

ah, Cheap shell is what I would be interested in. Maybe even something with a blown engine so I can build it, gut it and make it a beast. I need a 10 point cage for the track and I don't want to rip the nice interior out of my g35.

Gutting it and making it Race car or flipping it for some good profit would be my 2 choices.

I'm not too jazzed with the UTEC -- and although I hate tuning them, I'm not dumping $500 into an uprev license/MAF then spend days on a ground-up tune. A tired engine like this could probably use the extra knock and overboost protection of the UTEC anyhow.

Sell the utec to one of those newbs and then drop another 500$ on a used haltech. 2 hours and it will be tuned.

usually the greddy manifolds will have cracked 3-4 times over with that sort of mileage, might want to check them out asap because if you need to replace them, greddy usually takes months to get them and they want $700 i think.

Yikes. I've yet to throw the car on a lift for a deep inspection. It does build boost pretty easily though (WOT for 2-3 seconds on the freeway in 4th peaked at 6psi) , what are the symptoms of a cracked manifold?

Generally deceased performance overall, exhaust leak tick sound during cold start coming from the sides of the engine. eventually more noise and worse performance along with excessive fuel trim in closed loop with poor economy. Every set of greddy manifolds I've ever removed had cracks on them, with or without symptoms. Each side has a spot that goes every time. Heat wrap makes them get brittle a lot faster but I wrap them anyway and just replace every couple years. Perhaps they last longer on cars that don't get beat to death like mine.
