vortech z overheating help!!!
alright I got a vortech z its been running slightly hot some times !!! I was at idle for about 10min and the temp starting rising high about 3/4 of the way then I turned it off waited 10min then drove back to regular temp and then again when I stopped to put in gas then turned it back on . Its only does this while im parked or its off and I turn it back on right away !!! but as soon as I start driving it goes back to normal temp . any suggestion I ready checked for air bubbles not that ,the heat has been rising around here though around 100-106 im thinking maybe a vented hood will help I check both fans also they working .
Needs rebled. Use a spill free funnel so the coolant fill will be above the heads. Air gets trapped behind the thermostat keeping it from opening fully.
You don't need a vented hood or anything as a stock functioning system will cool that car with no problems. People in 120*+ over in dubai have no issues. I was boosted to 600hp for 2 years on the stock system and drove it in triple digit heat.

I don't know of one FI Z in Vegas (other than Stillen SC) that doesn't have over heating issues.
You might want to replace radiator cap too. I had same overheating issues, bleeding coolant system, was good a couple of days then overheated again. Till I replaced radiator cap. Bleed system one more time and after that never had overheat issues again. Seals on radiator cap went south and radiator when cooled, instead of vacuum coolant from relief reservoir, suck air through bad seals.
