Default Turbo Manifold-missing stud?

JWT provided GT25 turbo manifold.

Seems to me there should be a nut on a stud here. Am I correct or is it OK with 2 studs per port?

Thanks...
I tried to run a bolt in but it was very slightly off. If I loosened all others I think it would go in easily but I just don't want to do that at this time.

just open up the manifold hole. takes 1 minute and its less less spot that could leak.

I added studs to mine... it's been about a year since I added studs, otherwise I'd tell you what pitch/thread to buy. Just remove one with nut and head to napa or chuck's etc and they'll help you out.

That being said, if you torque down the 2 provided correctly with a good gasket you don't need to have studs everywhere.

Doesnt need it. Older VQs have 4 holes per exhaust port, and only use 2. Which 2 doesnt matter so long as they are opposing corners. VHRs they stopped drilling the unused holes, although there is material there if you want to drill. Every VQ exhaust mani gasket I have seen has all 4 locations also. I assume its just so that they didnt have to worry about blocking access to a required hole when designing manifolds? Or perhaps theres some application that nissan uses a VQ for racing and they want all 4? Or maybe so that when we strip them out down the road, we have options other than ghetto threading it?

well in my case, on my s13 vq swap, i flipped the manifolds upside down for a turbo build so i had to use the holes that were never used. lol but thats a rare case

Valid point for sure, but the big win here is a proper fitting gasket…you could put 12 nuts/bolts in and if your gasket sucks you will leak…
