Logan's 03 Twin Turbo Built Motor Swap
Why not send the turbos to Greddy to have them inspected. The cost is minimal and would be applied to any repairs found. Had mine done and it was only somewhere close to $200 for both.
Hate all this has happened.
Don't think I have seen this shop mentioned much on this site........

if you had a motor failure with the turbos on the car, get them inspected and cleaned! sucks to eat the cost up front, but journal bearings are not robust at all and will fail with the slightest bit of metal in the oil.

Finally got everything back from the machine shop. Heads were cleaned up and are as good to go. The cams on the other hand have some severe wearing on at least one journal on each cam. So these are going in the garbage as sad as that is. So basically, the motor is being completely rebuilt either way. At this point, I could have just built my own motor. But lesson learned. Time to move on.

Very similar story with mine. Motor blew. Bought a stock short block. Said he had no problems with it. Well luckily I tore it down. Upper oil pan was cracked. Bearings weren't in the best of shape. And the crank was in two pieces. So now my build will be extremely held up.
In for updates.
Was the engine bough from some random person or a shop i would of sent tha crap back and got a refund or made him/her pay the repair cost to fix it. ill be buying my short block from IPP.

Seriously contaminated oil... get those turbos refreshed, the metal content of the oil was thru the roof if the cams were that thrashed.

I bought the engine from a member on here. He has been very helpful so far and is helping with the cost. Still very upsetting. The car should have been back on the road a lot sooner than this.

For the first time in a long time I'm here with good news. My new cams will be in tomorrow (bc 264's), and then they will go down to the machine shop. The heads will be done by mid next week and then everything can start going back together
So, here's the next thing. I have been itching to do an e85 tune along with the pump 93. And to make things even worse, we just got a brand new station 2 minutes from my house that has e85 (the only one in a 35 mile radius). So now I'm really wanting to do it. I have rc750's and a single walbro 255. What size injectors will i need to make the e85 happen? And do I just need another 255?

Without any calcs (based on my own experimentation), for E85: I am going to guess that a single walbro and 750cc injectors will get you 400 whp on E85, pump limited. With a 485 pump, you'd make it to 500 whp, injector limited. With 1000 cc injectors and a 485, you'd hit 600 whp, pump limited. Dual pumps and 1000 cc injectors maybe 650 whp, injector limited. Dual pumps and 1300 cc injectors will take you to 750-800 whp, both pump and injector limited. A 485/255 dual pump combo will take you a bit further. If you switch to 2000cc injectors, you can lower base fuel pressure and so your pumps go further also... (that combo will take you to 900-1000 whp I think).

Glad to hear the forum member who sold you the motor stepped up and helped you out a bit, that's a very classy act +1
Looking forward to seeing videos of this build on the road. Keep up the good work

We got the heads back from the machine shop Thursday (check out the pic, they look brand new), so now the motor can start to go back together finally. I hope all this waiting and patience pays off because i'm ready to see this thing roll. Praying for the good news to keep coming in lol. More pics to come and hopefully more good news

I don't know if any one mentioned but I would get rid of those greddy mushrooms. From what I've read about them they are not your friend.
But in other news your car looks great
!
I'm experiencing some of the same things but luckily I knew I was buying a problem just didn't know I was buying such a BIG problem :/. Gl with the build I think it will come together nicely. Paying attention to detail is not cheap but better in the end. You're on the right path!
