DE build parts list
Hey guys, got bored of 360whp from my vortexh v3 Sci, so I am planning on building my block and a few other things to up the power safely.
Items on car:
Gt maf
Walbro 255pump
Detchwerks 600cc injectors
aam stage 0 fuel return.
Stillen oil pan
One step colder plugs
AMS pulleys
Plenum spacer
Decats
Dc sports exhaust.
V3 SCI at 8psi.
The suspension brakes etc have all been done and other mods that don't matter, just interested in the engine.
So I have bought acl bearings and eagle rods, 3"charge pipe, comp clutch stage4 but need help on the rest!
What I plan on buying:
Arp head bolts
HR head gasket?
Modify the block to improve cooling and make use of the HR gasket,(drill new water ways or something, seen it on an online magazine about a drift car vq35 DE build.)
Fluidampr crank pulley.
3.12 vortech pulley(should max out the blower rpm)
Pistons???9.8:1 or 10:1?
Piston rings???
DC sports headers
Lightweight flywheel
Rev-up oil pump.
Balance the bottom end from flywheel to crank pulley
Hone block.
Uprev(again)
Leaving the heads alone bar cleaning.
Anything I've missed/suggestions for pistons?
And no I don't want to swap the blower for t-trim etc, going to see what is possible with mine.
Cheers for any help =)

No got them for a stupid low price so went and dived right in. They are standard size so if the crank is worn I will need to find a new one. The engine has done 56k miles.

600cc's might get you to 450whp before maxing out. Depends on the rest of your fuel setup.

As for fuel system see above, it's sitting around 41psi If I remember correctly.
Yeah I thought something around 9.8:1 or 10:1 would be best for the fuel I get here, (can also get 99Ron if I try).

+1 to the lower compression pistons and larger injectors…
with the procharger kit, making 13psi with the DW600cc injectors I made 455whp and both the injectors and blower were reaching their max outputs.
add an oil cooler - that's great that you are modifying your block, which will promote cooling of the block, but coolant only cools your block. oil, obviously lubricates, but also cools your internals…what's cooling your oil?

Air is cooling my oil and here in Scotland it's always cold plus the extra capacity of the stillen pan will suffice, a few guys here actually find oil coolers are only worth while if it's a dedicated track toy(mine isn't) they have to block the fins as the oil won't reach temperature. But thanks for the suggestion.

Stock VQ37VHR have C/R 11:1 and works very good after boosted.
On Supercharger You don't have to retard so much ignition like in turbocharged engines...
On normal europe fuel PB98 the C/R 11:1 and supercharged you have to retard igniotion 1* on 1psi.
So you plan to charge 11Psi you should take down 11* ignition
What boost do you plan, friend from Europe ??

I'd drop compression to 9.0:1 if running high boost. Then you could up the timing and still be safe. That or run 10:1 with water/meth. Boost and high compression aren't always the best of friends. Especially when running the blower at its max rpm. Air starts to get really hot even with an intercooler and hot air with high compression are just inviting detonation.

Forgot about this thread, well nearly have all my parts, went for custom wisco 9.5:1 pistons with the armour glide etc should arrive this week after many months waiting.
DC headers
Nismo thermostat
Timrod radius rod
3.12 pulley
Mishimoto hoses
3"charge pipe
L19 head studs
Arp main bolts
Rev up pump
So much other stuff
New bushes all round
Can't even remember it's all just been collected and thrown in the atic.
Just going to order the fluidampre pulley tonight and the head gaskets
Probably cometic as I can't be bothered with the hassle of machining the block for a hr gasket.
Think I should make about 14psi don't know don't care as it should be overkill with all the parts.
Now all I need is to build a bigger garage and buy a engine stand so I can start building, have had a few quotes for machining the block as the pistons are 0.02"oversized but still not sure if I will use the engine that is in the car at the moment which works or buy a spare one that has issues.
