Default A couple problems installing vortech 04 de

So, I am on Day 2 of installing my V2 vortech kit

I have everything together, but the cog belt touches the coupler which connects the maf adapter pipe and the cast pip that goes down from their. Anybody else run into this issue?? I understand it would be close but it impacts belt operation.

On another note, I put the cog belt on with the idle that tightens it and spun it a bit...it walks off far to the inner edge of the top cog and stays in the center of the charger cog...do i just need to add some washers to move the idler over a bit? should that be necessary?

I have done a lot of searching ....need some direct help by those with experience installing this kit. Thanks guys.

Just need to adjust your piping...it definitely should have more clearance between the cog and piping...try adjusting it from the piping that connects to the intercooler; its also possible you may have put the piping that connects the elbow to the lower piping/intercooler on upside down...

As for the cog idler, you shouldn't need to add washers...

Thanks 006, I will try flipping the pipe around, but pretty sure i have it installed correctly as the bottom pip lines up with the fmic.

What would cause the cog belt to walk towards the front of the car?? is the lip on the tensioner for the belt intended to keep it inline?

Did you install the spacers between the bracket and front of the engine? I just looked at mine and I have alot of space compared to yours.

Ive had to add a spacer to the tensioner pulley to get everything to line up right. With out it, I was shredding belts. Others have also added a spacer.

How do I go about "deleting that hose" ??? Seems like vortech should have designed a hose that goes up and around where the main wiring harnes is. I overshot my install time, put the car back to stock for now, since I would not have time to finish it this month, can't have the car inoperable that long. Wifey not happy about this "project" lol
