I bought the vortech v3i tuner kit for my 06 350 and I'm in the process of getting bigger injectors and a 255lph fuel pump. My question is, are the modifications to the walbro gss342 absolutely necessary? I'd rather not do this meticulous work if I don't have to. Is there another fuel pump available to purchase with no modifications needed? Deatschwerks? Thanks!

It doesn't make much sense to me to have to do this to a fuel pump in order to make it work correctly. Why isn't it drilled from the factory and the tabs cut off it, etc?

 

All Fuel pump Basket Assemblies need to be modified.

Follow the CJM instructions and you will be fine.

Read the instructions and it will make more sense to you.

 

the fuel basket modifications are really easy. the fuel pump uninstall/mods and reinstall should be done in about 45 min and all youd need are 2 small drill bits as oldmanz350 said, follow the CJM instructions and youre good to go.

 

wow, fuel pump mod is meticulous.... cant wait to see what he thinks of actual FI ownership when stuff goes wrong.
