Nice setup, the guys at J-tran seem like great folks. Never met them in person, but exchanged many many emails while I was deployed. If I was still in texas, that would of been my shop of choice down there.
No trans slipage at that level? Most of the guys I have seen with the 5 AT can only manage 550-600 rwhp (except mgr1980 or whatever his handle is)...
I drove it for a few hours today and the transmission hasn't slipped from what I can tell. The oil and Trans coolers were moved out to the side of the intercooler, and we removed my reflectors to give them some fresh air. Beating on it in 104 deg heat, all temps stayed in check. After a handful of 1st-3rd pulls, the Trans temp would creep up to about 215. So just as always, I cruise for about 5 minutes and it cools back down to 195-200. I have two maps. One is about 535 whp, and the other is 600 whp. I just stayed in the safe map all day to get a feel for the car. If we get any cooler weather, I'll go try out the race map. But, on the street, 535 is perfect. 1st gear is nuts in boost, 2nd gear gets a steady howl out of the tires any-time the wastegate is open, and 3rd pulls to about 115 in a blink.
Johnny spent a lot of time on the transmission tuning. He said its holding fine. If it will hold together long-term at this power level, I cannot see any reason to push my luck and shoot for more.
Should be night and day compared to your old supercharger
It's nice to hear from guys that stick with the platform!!!
Enjoy
That is an understatement. There is no comparing the two.
I specifically searched for my car even though the 370Z was already out. I almost bought a 370, but I'm glad I didn't. The 350 is hands-down a better looking car when done right. I have liked them for a long time. And with the HR, you get the best of both.
wow, thats EXCELLENT! What sort of tuning does he do to the 5 at? Your the first over 600 except mrg1980 675 rwhp?) I hve seen with the at...gives me hope! my car may end up at jtran one day.....
what size coolers are you running? Did you have the coolers mounted elsewhere before moving? Where might I ask? Tryin' to learn from you what I might expect with mine...

I don't know much about the Trans tuning. Theyve been cranking out FI Autos for a while now, so he's got it down. They have a customer with a 550 hp JWT twin turbo that has been running for over three years now. A Stillen Supercharged Armada that just came in for a Meth upgrade and tuned for more power. Most of the cars that come thru their shop aren't even on the forums.
So, you'll have to ask Johnny. The bad thing is....the best way to talk to any of them is in person. They do all of their own work, so that doesn't leave them with much time to play on forums or sit on the phone. So it may take a few tries to get your questions answered.

I don't remember the size. I bought the standard kit oil and Trans coolers from Stillen. They were originally right where yours are, but since adding the big air to air intercooler, we wanted to move them out. Now we have to figure a good way to get them airflow. Ron suggested we remove the reflectors and cut two more slits in front to give the appearance of shark gills. We will work on the final details that tie it all together next week.
Be careful with the gaping hole in the front via removing the bumper grill. At high speeds it might just give way like it did to Alberto. I had a similar type run in with air tearing into my wheel well (Nismo v2 bumper and wrong fender liner) pushing the fender liner onto my tires at high speeds. sounded like an airplane above... I wanna say Alberto's experience was far more scarier and I believe is documented somewhere on here. Nice car BTW
Good call. That makes sense. Johnny mentioned adding some extra supports for the bumper. I see why. For now 1st-3rd will be the only gears seeing positive pressure. So that limits me to about 120 mph. No high speed runs for me until I get a little more confidence in this transmission.
he should be okay with the undertray that's on there along with that lip and the intercooler all bracing the front bumper. car has been fun to play with. its a completely built trans with an upgraded torque converter. shes ok with the power at the time being but im sure itll let go eventually due to the nature of how mr jaxter drives. ron did an outstanding job on the sheer fabrication side of it. everything fit and served a purpose in its locations. injectors on this setup are maxed due to no fuel return. jaxter is on id1000 on stock ecu still. would like to get it on haltech and fuel system and big pumps but that'll be later. enjoy jaxter!
between the two maps the settings is just base timing. one is running 9 degrees up top and the other is running 12 to 13 degrees up top.
