Help with wastegate relocation pipes
hello, I for the life of me cant figure out how these will work. I have spent a few hrs trying them every which way possible. They came with my aam 3" downpipes but I dont know if they were a kit or what, it was a trade and the guy never installed them...Im wondering if they just wont work with my downpipes?? Anyone have any ideas I'd appreciate it...this is the last thing I have to do until I re install the engine and tranny back in the Z. As you can see in the pic,. there is no way to install the wastegate without it hitting the downpipe.

from the looks of it, I have aam downpipes, but my wastegate relocation kit doesnt match up. I wonder if my wastegate relocation kit is svrt or something else? Thats why they wont work
Even the AAM are tough. You have to install in the right order on the car to get them in. I had to clock my wastegate to get the ports facing the right way for plumbing the boost signals.
Those look like they locate the waste gates down low and out of the engine bay which would make them easier to service. The relocation pipes are not AAM.

yea they def. relocate them down which is nice, but they just wont fit at all. Im just trying to figure out what I have. What do you mean by clock them? I think the only way to make them fit is to cut and re weld them I guess. This sucks

we had to rotate the head so the base pressure port was rotated right for the fitting to come out.
Yeah it is a bear to get those in there.
Have you tried installing the small pipes first. There aint a whole lotta room in there.

yea I have tried everything. I can get them to sit pretty decent without the downpipes, but once I try to put the downpipe on there is no way, Im wondering if this combo will even work. Most of these companies are out of business or mia so getting help or parts is tough...

yea I emailed aam to see if they would sell their dump pipes seperate. Hopefully I hear from them, i may try to call tomorrow. I really dont want to have them custom made, that will delay me big time and cost alot. Im hoping I can cut and re weld mine to make them work. The 350z part of the forum is half dead, all the threads and stuff on this the people, companies and pics are gone
went ahead and mounted them, this is really the only way I see they can go...im just going to have to modify the downpipes, ie beat the **** out of them with a hammer
to make room. I may get the torch out and try to bend them where they mate up with the turbo for some more room. Do you think denting the pipe will make a big difference in flow? I really dont see any other way.
its always something.
Too late! Took the grinder to them. Worked out pretty well, was able to bend them up and out away from the wastegate. Now just have to weld em back together
The dump tubes really cant be moved anywhere except lengthened to be below the downpipes. That will be more difficult imo. I'll post some pics.
Cux, glad you said something about clocking the wastegate, I did that as well to keep the line from hitting the pipes.
