End of day two!

Lots of progress but not as far as expected.
New engine is in, greddy TT kit is 90% installed,

Notes for greddy kit install:
-install Passenger side downpipe then wastegate(for aam setup)
-install drivers side wastegate then downpipe. Reach top bolt from the top with the -upper plenum off. 3/8 rathect, 12mm deep and short extension and a good sense of feel
-knock sensor can be clipped back in without taking lower manifold off or having small hands. Just use a grabber and go at it from the front of the motor. Takes under 5 min to do.

Didn't get to start her up.

Still need to add all the fluids and put the driveshaft back in.

Going to run on 440cc injectors until she's broken in and ready to be tuned on the 800s.

Hopefully she will purr on the 11th

sooooooooo

Installed boost controller, virbrant vacuum manifold and driveshaft. Bolted her all back up and fired her up. Alex also fabbed up the mounts for the washer fluid reservoir. We also replaced my compression rod on the passenger side since the bushing was blown.

outcome:
Coolant leak on drivers side pipe
Oil leak from drivers side turbo feed line
leak from washer fluid tank

Fixed all three and let the car warm up. Forgot to take my camera off of time lapse so no video

Went to drive her around...........uh oh. Clutch wont disengage all the way. I upgraded to a cd009 tranny and a Southbend clutch. My slave cylinder may have up to 84k or 67k miles. It has been through drag, autox and small town driving so its probably on its way out.

We were both whooped so we decided to call it a day. Plan is to replace the Slave cylinder next weekend and see where that gets us.

The initial startup went well. She doesnt idle well or come down from a rev well but she runs. Running my old map but have since added the RFS and BC2 cams and lowered the CR.

is there a reason for having both the stock fuel regulator and aftermarket one?

ya, danny, it's just a dampner not a regulator.

shes alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New slave cylinder, adjusted clutch, bled like crazy and away she went. Shifts smooth as hell. With the AC on she is less likely to stall out at stops.

This is going to be fun! Gotta do a few more mods and then finish breaking her in.

Enough room between the two to fit the missing generations. Not alot of Z's at the show. Would have been sweet to have the full lineup.

that 280z was in fairly good shape for its age.

good times to be had in Clemson!

Up to 140 miles now. I think I have a slight oil leak. I let her idle down in the driveway before putting her in the garage. Once i pulled her in i inspected the ground and saw a small oil spot. Looks like its on the drivers side. Will have to investigate tomorrow.

Other than that the oil temperature sensor that I have keeps saying my oil is getting up to 260 degrees! I find it hard to believe the oil is getting that hot with how cool it is out tonight and how little load the car is experiencing. I think its the extra heat being generated by the turbos that is heating the aluminum plate and in turn heating my sensor to a false reading.

Will look into a -10an fitting with a 1/8th npt sensor tap and put my sensor right on the oil cooler.

Will also be wrapping the down pipes this weekend and heat shielding some more stuff under the car. Once I figure out the oil leak and remedy it i will put my undershroud back on.

Only 860 more miles!

Still have to get an exhaust and a few other things before I get a tune.
