What is it with those German car guys anyway?
Actually, Enthuzed took me for a ride in his newly SC 350Z, quite a quick liitle ride. We didn't have much room to run but we managed ( in rush hour traffic ) to run it hard from 3rd thru the top of 5th gear and it really sets you back against the seat. Nice ride ! Now I have to take the S4 to the next level to keep up !

Thanks, but it was more like just into 5th... Are you trying to make me out as a mad man? Rush hour, top of 5th... that would have been well over 130mph.

We got on it in 3rd and 4th to about 6000rpm. Feels very strong. Ecoli detuned it until we get a chance to log some parameters and really find out how much timing is being removed etc... So I really felt the drops in the curve. Of course I want the 396rwhp tune back on it!!! And to think I said I didn't want to be greedy about the power. Sheesh! What was I thinking?

Good times!

So he de-tuned to it for the time being to what ? 380 or less ? Still felt pretty damn quick and yes you are a maniac, a maniac in sheeps clothing. Power, no such thing as too much power, I said that about 15K ago...

Was looking to buy wheels, but I'm fiending to go with the Vortech kit.

Logically, wheels shoulds come first, since I could never put the power to the ground with Stockers, but man.....what a sleeper!

Gonna follow this one too.

Thats the same thing I've been wondering about... how bad is the gear whine. I've heard a vid with the hood open but is it better closed?

It seemed pretty loud.

The amount of noise the Vortech puts out isn't too bad. There was a video posted by one of the G35 guys(zimbo?) that gave you a good idea of the noise level. I have a video, but haven't taken the time to shrink it down enough for someone to host it...

Only thing noisy was the screaming from the people on the street as there clothes were sucked off their bodies from the vacuum created by this 350Z as it raced by. It's not as quiet as a turbo car but it isn't too loud either. Idle is nothing really, you know it;s there but not too obtrusive. prolly loudest between 2500 and 3500. BUT IT PULLS LIKE A FREIGHT TRAIN>

Enthuzed, you take that bad boy out sice you took me for a ride. ? I drove mine a few times last week and again today, couldn't take it anymore, the 93' 4RNR with a bad CV joint was too much for me to handle today. Crossing my fingers the snow doesn't stick today.

I'm interested as well... I've tracked my Z once and plan on doing it regularly. However, I hit my rev limiter numerous times. What terrible things happen when you hit the rev limiter w/ a charger?

Yes, the kit has an intercooler. If you mean to the strip(track) I probably won't see a strip. However, I will see many road course track days, but not beginning until April...
