TT: Still have a few conerns after doing some research
For the price of N/A you might as well just spray.
Idk why everyone says a boosted car has reliability problems. If its well build, build right, uses quality parts, i dont see how reliability is an issue. But then again, all my car have always been build and no corners cut, so i dont know about reliability issues. My saleen was fine when i sold it. My 350z is still kicking ***, so idk, maybe its just me.

Again, you have a much better chance of having a long lasting, reliable car if you do it right. But you never know.
Not to be a jerk or know it all. Again, everything about FI I say is from reading and not first hand experience. But, isn't it possible to do a perfect build and your engine could still fail. Obviously, doing it right and not cutting corner will typically yield better results. But, it's always a gamble.

Its all luck. You can take preventive measures, but at the end of the day, its still all up to chance.
People talk about reliability is an issue with vuild engines as if when you daily a build car, its gonna break. Thats not the case at all.
Im just saying, reliability isnt an issue, its just a game of chance. Thats life, chet happens. Thats just how it is. Its the risk we take every day.
Your on the right track with your research. that will be your friend. I agree with bealljk on it not being a DD. It will feel slower quicker and the upgraded clutch and suspension and other stuff make it not pleasant to drive in traffic and in and out of driveways and whatnot from day to day. Just my .02. It sounds like you have the money to do it, so I would get a kit and all necessary supporting mods, not skipping a thing and enjoy it. If its tuned right and you dont drive like a total jackass all the time it should last. If it doesnt, build it and crank it up. good luck. you wont regret going FI, its awesome!!

No worries. Thats part of the process Is asking questions. I dont mind giving MY own personal experience. But every experience varies. My car might be ok at 400rwhp, but whos to say someone else in this forum didnt throw a rod at 350. Ive seen stock hit 500+. Its the luck of the draw. I can only comment on my personal experience and give my opinion. Gotta take it with a grain of salt.
Thanks again for the info and support. I'll take y'alls suggestion and look up AAM, I've seen a few references about something fishy so I appreciate the advice. Like I said before this will be a long process because I do want to do it right, I honestly thought it may have been a good deal but it wasn't anything special, and honestly I've been looking down other avenues. I do a lot of research into any major investment and this will be a BIG investment but I absolutely love this car. I love how simplistic the car feels. No frills interior, handles well for a stock suspension and has a good amount of power. There's a few places I've been looking at. I hate to bother them so far in advance but I like knowing a good starting point for costs. I've been looking into a supercharger as well, both options would give me more power than I need. And the only time it will be driven hard would be on the track. I actually checked two DE cars, great prices. They have some clean cars down here. Also checked out a mint 328 with 65k miles, checked with the bank and I am good to go for a second loan when the time is right. If I had the second car I could start the project, and I really want to learn how to do it myself. Not saying I'm just going to rip the engine apart as a first timer but see if I can find a good tech who would be willing to teach someone interested. Long story short thanks again for all the advice, I'm going with all your suggestions, take it off the road as a daily, build the car from bottom up. I'm actually getting ready to get some bigger breaks, probably brembos. Just making sure I make the right purchase and then I hope to have them in the next week or two and those I do know how to install ha, done it many times on my old autocross/track cars. After that I think I'm going quaife lsd or coilovers/sway bars so the car can handle the power. Replace the bushings, mounts, etc. Should be able to get that done in 2 to 3 months, possibly do a catback single exhaust, debating on 2.5 or 3 inch but that may be 6 months down the road.
My immediate advice would be that you learn to use paragraphs.
Don't ever forget this either...no matter how much you spend, or "build" or overbuild a given setup. Be prepared that at mile 1 it can fail. Most shops aren't going to truly warranty a build. Don't fall for that. Be prepared for the worst, hope for the best.
Try really hard to wrap your mind around what I just said. It can and does happen. At the end of the day you are on your own.

oldmanz. He tunes using the vortech SS box, not uprev or anything you would want. That info should still be correct, I don't think he has gone standalone yet.
